Why are Christians insisting the opening ceremony depicted The Last Supper when it really was the Feast of Dyonisus?

France is so low grade

We do so much better in the US, marching with torches and chanting “Jews will not replace us” /s

And i doubt Macron said there were good people on both sides

I wonder how many countries/politicians are going to copy Russia's law banning gay propaganda after this.

Going forward, they really should only allow the Olympics in countries with such laws.

Got it. So you hate freedom and America?

Because if they can't complain about being persecuted, they vanish into thin Air.

Seriously, I wish Christians would take a page from everyone else's book and just live their damn lives and stop looking for persecution at every corner

Well, in a nutshell, the answer to OP is that it isn't necessarily about the parody at all. It's about the relenting push to include a majority of (and in this case "only") LGBTQ or drag queens in mainstream media, but more importantly during an event such as the Olympics where unity and diversity are at its core. There was in IMHO an undertone of pushing their (LGBTQ and drag queens) agenda which is not what the Olympics are all about.

NP. Drag queen agenda?? You clearly don’t know any drag queens.

True but that's besides the point because what I meant was that...as a whole, there was in IMHO an undertone of pushing their (LGBTQ and drag queens) agenda, which is not what the Olympics are all about. It's actually not about mocking religion for me because I honestly don't agree 100% with that. But I stand by my opinion that there was most definitely an undertone of pushing the LGBTQ and/or drag queens agenda which as they have learned has backfired. But I am enjoying watching the Olympics and still think that the opening ceremony as a whole (despite the undertone) was amazing.

How is it pushing an agenda by hiring people that are different than you...... I watch FBI shows and I don't think it's pushing the agenda. I should become a bomber.... Most same people can watch a show and not be indoctrinated just by watching someone play a part seriously you people are unhinged

I'm not PP but this happening (and I am not saying it's right either) wouldn't surprise me because it was taken a step too far. Take religion out of the equation - it's not about religion per se - it's about pushing the envelope too far.

I saw someone post why don't Christians go back and live their own lives quietly. Well, I say the same thing about LGBTQ and drag queens -- why the need to put on a globally televised show that is quite clearly all about LGBTQ and drag queens (which is perfectly fine to do - it's just the Olympic opening ceremony was not the appropriate venue)? Why don't they go back and live their own lives quietly? Right or wrong, for every action, there will always be a reaction -- the more extreme the action, the more extreme the reaction.

PP here—well, I can say they are pushing the agenda while, honestly, I love Bridgerton, Grey's Anatomy, 9-1-1, etc.

Pushing the agenda is about normalizing it. And this has become totally a polarizing issue here because of schools and the need to push it on children. And that's the trigger point.

Extreme Action - pushing pronoun idiocy and gender dysphoria talks to young children in public schools. (Middle School and HS OK, but not ES -- all children should go through puberty before making any life-altering medical decisions unless parental sign-off)
Extreme Reaction - put the 10 commandments/Bible study in public schools. (which is wrong - separation of church and state - BUT removing the Pledge of Allegiance is also 100% wrong)

The whole drag queen stuff is overdone these days and so tacky. What does a man parading around wearing woman face have to do with the Olympics? Wrong venue for that type of stuff.

I can’t think of anything that better represents the work and sacrifice necessary to be an Olympic athlete than morbidly obese drag queens.

Take it up with the planner, who according to this thread was Kamala Harris herself.

Olympic authorities have said it was a depiction of the Feast of Dyonisus. How is this still a controversy? Do facts not matter at all to these people? At least one Christian pastor seemed to figure out what really happened.

Reverend Benjamin Cremer, based in the US, shared a post on social media which dispelled the allegation that the controversial scene featuring drag queens was mocking Leonardo da Vinci's classic painting and therefore Christianity.

The post reads: 'It was a representation of the event called the Feast of Dionysus. Greek God of festivity and feasting and ritual and theater.'

It seems as if Christians are very invested in feeling persecuted and disrespected these days. Seems like some people are actually just riling up the base.

When someone is offended, is it the intent or the impact that matters most?

So move to Afghanistan. I can’t believe all MAGAs haven’t already done so, it’s vision board realizes.
