Anyone changing behavior due to the latest uptick in Covid?

How fortunate for you that covid "wasn't a dramatic event." But you really need to learn that your experience does not equal everyone else's. I had a relatively mild case of covid and have been suffering horribly for almost a year now with long covid. I am losing hope that I will ever be the same. The coughing is awful and the fatigue is debilitating.

I work in healthcare and probably 2/3 of us are wearing masks at work now.

“Work in healthcare” doesn’t seem to mean you’re any kind of provider, since that’s certainly not the case in local hospitals and clinics/offices.

I am not a provider, I teach medical students clinical skills. The students are still required to wear masks in the simulation center exam rooms, and like I said, about 2/3 of my colleagues are wearing masks at all times. Many of the medical school faculty are wearing masks, but not all. We had an event with nursing students recently, and none of their faculty wore masks. But bottom line -- at my job, people are wearing masks.

But that was not the point of the post, and it looks like you know that.

You tried to add credibility to your post by saying you “work in healthcare.” While arguably true, it was also obviously misleading. But it looks like you know that.

No one enjoys masking but not everyone is as ignorant as you're blessed with good health. I wish I could live your charmed life.

What about masking because you actually have Covid? Like days 6-10? Your assumption is ridiculous.

I’m just recovered from COVID. Except that’s not really true. I am in a brain fog off and on, and am unusually forgetful. The first time I had it, toward the beginning of the pandemic, I felt sick and aching for a day or so, and then just frustrated by quarantine. This time, though, it was just awful. High fever, very sore throat, severe body aches, for five days such that I could barely sleep, and a brain fog throughout and, very unexpectedly, the brain fog still showing up here in there today.

It’s crazy, schools start next week and no one is saying anything about keeping the kids home or a more hybrid method. No masking, nothing.

And same with the grocery stores and target!!!

And people like you are the reason people are getting sicker and sicker and dying from Covid.

Actually, this is NOT what is happening now.

Full stop! These people making and responding to these posts in a rabid covid fever are the freaks who are STILL wearing masks outside (covid must search through the air and get you), wear a mask in their car (WTH?), or still spray groceries down and enter every building like a Star Wars paratrooper. Ya'll need mental help. A natural culling is fine for those who are not the fittest or whatever. No one seems to care about all the innocents dying in wars and fires or from famine but you all will freak out over a tiny virus that hardly even does any real damage anymore?

The second half of your post doesn’t exactly make me trust your ethical judgement.

Kentucky school districts cancel classes less than 2 weeks into school year due to Covid-19, viruses and strep outbreaks

If Maga country Kentucky is taking this drastic of a step, we all need to be worried.

What’s wrong with a person choosing to wear a mask in their car? It is not uncommon to see this in this area, after all.

Did you take Paxlovid? I heard that makes a difference. Rest and take your time jumping back into things.

They shutdown for two days. Two days to stop the spread!
