Nope - just the LWNJs who didn’t vote for him in the first place. I’m a Youngkin voter and have zero regrets. Friends and family who voted for him feel the same way. It’s just you who is still sulking because you lost. DP |
Great, then you agree “Irreversible Damage” should be included in HS libraries. |
I 100% recommend this book to anyone |
So well said. Thank you. |
Agreed - are you the PP? |
Serious question: if they aren't comfortable talking to you or your spouse, how would even you know to ask them whether they'd like to talk with a therapist or counselor, in the first place? |
Like this, only Gender Queer instead of drugs. "Come on, read it, Davey! Read it!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNVywbj7vto |
Should this book be available to high school students in libraries? Yes, it should. Notwithstanding the numerous errors of science in the book (see, e.g., https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-science-of-transgender-treatment/). And notwithstanding the irony of people who claim to represent "parents' rights" believing that they should get to decide about medical care for children who are not their children, instead of those children's parents (see, e.g., https://apnews.com/article/lgbtq-transgender-kids-health-care-bans-117c082fcf431f02fd25ce253aa6d7a2). |
^^^I'm imagining something like this. Kid: You: Kid: You: Kid: You: Kid: You: Hey Kid, since you're not comfortable talking to us (your parents) about your questions about your sexuality/identity, would you like to talk with a therapist or counselor instead? |
A simple "YES" would have sufficed. So why isn't it in school libraries? Because liberals are absolute hypocrites. https://mainefirstproject.org/maine-librarians-reject-the-book-irreversible-damage/ |
Do you live in Maine? I thought this thread was about Virginia. Have you asked the media specialist at your high school in Virginia whether the library has the book? |
The funny thing is that the RWNJs have given these books so much publicity that MANY more teens are going to be reading them.
|
I didn't say that parents would direct their kids to the library. If their teens were struggling with sexuality/identity, would parents prefer that their kids read books like these OR search the interwebs/pornhub for more insights? Why do you think it was poorly written? |
A simple search of FCPS libraries online shows it is not carried. No doubt asking a "media specialist" why this is would result in an unhinged LWNJ lecture. The point being - again - that liberals are complete hypocrites. |
Have you even read it yourself? It's a cartoon with writing to match. But if that's the kind of "resource" you'd prefer your kids to have, knock yourself out. They are no better than what one would find on the "interwebs/pornhub." |
