I don't think of "people on the other side of the line" are psychopaths and P O Ss. I think there are some pro mask/lockdown posters who behave horribly/dishonestly on these boards who are P O Ss and psychopaths. These are people who post falsehoods repeatedly and ignore when someone posts proof that they are wrong. People who say any child's mental illness was caused by their parents. I've seen that gem a lot. People who insist than anyone who isn't masking right now didn't make any sacrifices in 2020-21 - also a common talking point. Those posters are psychopaths. |
Still calling people psychopaths and P.O.S., okay. Have fun being angry. |
I call it like I see it |
I'm in Europe, so didn't respond because I went to bed. Power went out, so now I'm up. Le sigh That thread was posted by a Pulitzer prize winning science writer. The thing is, we don't know that people are actually clearing Covid. Covid seems to persist in the organs even among those who feel fine. |
This is why it's incredible to me that parents are letting their kids pick it up over and over and over again without doing anything at all to try and prevent it. They have their whole lives ahead of them and will be dealing with the aftermath. Really sad |
Ok, that’s nice. Could you please reply to the substance of the study? It is, in fact, a study of molecular changes that compared brains of dead Covid victims to other people who were in the icu, correct? The authors of the study itself made no inferences about its application to the general population. Also, could you please post support for “ Covid seems to persist in the organs even among those who feel fine.” because I haven’t seen that study yet. |
The authors actually did: “Given these findings, we advocate for neurological follow-up of recovered COVID-19 patients,” said senior and co-corresponding author Frank Slack, director of the Institute for RNA Medicine at BIDMC and the Shields Warren Mallinckrodt Professor of Medical Research at Harvard Medical School. “We also emphasize the potential clinical value in modifying the factors associated with the risk of dementia — such as controlling weight and reducing excessive alcohol consumption — to reduce the risk or delay the development of aging-related neurological pathologies and cognitive decline.” Better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying brain aging and cognitive decline in COVID-19 could lead to the development of novel therapeutics to address cognitive decline observed in COVID-19 patients. The team is now trying to understand what drives the aging-like effects in the brains of COVID-19 patients. https://www.pennlive.com/nation-world/2021/12/study-finds-coronavirus-can-persist-for-months-in-almost-every-organ-system-a-step-towards-understanding-long-covid-19.html?outputType=amp |
I don’t get it either. |
It does seem like the evidence is growing that kids have been harmed. |
Then that comment isn’t talk about you! There’s clearly a wide spectrum of how people treat Covid. The person in that comment is at the extreme end of remaining overly cautious and building their life around “taking CoVID seriously.” If you simply still mask, you are not in that group. But those people ARE out there- mainly on Twitter. They’re the ones saying things like “people are really hosting cookie exchanges? In a panini? I wouldn’t risk long CoVID for cookies but have fun.” Those kinds of people. |
Why do you care so much is the real question? |
Well gee, it sure would make a lot more sense to ask on Twitter then wouldn’t it? OP said she wanted to be anonymous though, and none of those Twitter posters have responded after 20 pages, so I don’t see the point. Maybe make an anonymous Twitter account OP? For someone so traumatized by toddler masking, maybe a better use of your time is to stop dwelling on random people that you are afraid to confront and focus on joyful time with your kid? This topic isn’t healthy for you. I truly hope you aren’t the POS poster. If so, you honestly need anger management help. |
DP the sad thing is my toddler was actually harmed by masking, but of course to you all anything having to do with mental health is a hilarious joke, and yes that makes you a POS. |
No one thinks it’s a hilarious joke lady, but dwelling on random posters in social media is not the solution. It’s completely unproductive. Name-calling doesn’t help anyone come to your side. |
Everyone on the pro-masking side will eventually give up masks. In other words, the people in favor of normalcy will "win." It's truly crazy that people are planning on giving up normal socialization for themselves and their children indefinitely. Lack of normal socializing will also cause changes to the brain and remodeling of circuitry... |
