The boats are bringing the people who don’t vote for you to Florida

Yup. Desantis won MIAMI DADE by 11 points, and that effort was years in the making. Dems elsewhere continue to underestimate how broad his appeal is to their detriment.

This is what the Republicans say about every state that they win in occasionally. “It’s gone.” DeSantis drew a wild redistricting map and has actual “voting police” patrolling black communities. That’s not what confident policymakers do. If we are still even marginally a democracy, there is no such thing as “gone.”

Dems need to figure out their messaging with Cuban Americans and Hispanic Americans if they have any hope in getting a presidency again in the next 20 years

How the hell is the Warnock and Walker race even close????

Redistricting doesn't affect the governor's race.

Redistricting doesn't affect Obama's second term election, Trump's single term, or Biden's.

My guess? The boomers are migrating down there in larger numbers. If they want to concentrate in that state then more power to them. It will make more states viable.

His margins are about the same as Rubios. This just tells me FL is now red.

Feeling very good about the Senate. Kelly looks very solid, which gives us 49. Rs have to win GA, NV and WI to get control. That looks very unlikely at this point.

Agreed.

Buh bye, FL. It’s been real. But you love MAGA like you love bath salts and so we are done.

Yea, we will take a page and talk about how “they’re not sending their best”

In 2020 Dems won house popular vote 50.8-47.7. D+3 electorate.

Final tallies aren't in yet but currently R's are winning popular House vote 52.3-45.7 per CNN. R+6 electorate- is the 10 pt swing many have been projecting.

HOWEVER.. Post covid, R's have been flocking to the major "red" states like TX and FL, leading to over performance in those areas (ie DeSantis by 20 when he was expecting to win by 10) but left the previous state more "purple", allowing Dems to win in those areas.

Absolutely agree. COVID deaths + population shifts + retirements have made PA, MI, and WI more blue.

Conservatives I know are concentrating themselves in a handful of states - ID, MT, FL, and TX. We have family friends who sold their homes in ÇA and AZ to move to ID full time because AZ was “getting too liberal!” If you are conservative and have some money, you moved during COVID to the DeSantis theme park of Florida.

It will take time, but the population shifts are real. You couldn’t rent a UHaul for months.

Texas will be in major play in the next 10 years. So for Dems, that will be a huge win and change the map entirely

Awesome, so let’s cut off federal aid to Florida when the next hurricane hits since they choose to be governed by someone that puts immigrants on a plane.
