A war he started with Bibi, without provocation, in the worst military miscalculation since the birth of America. Congratulations. You just made Iran stronger, the Iranian people entirely muzzled. |
That's different. Iran gets $300B for reparations AND unfrozen assets (probably +interest). We were told Trump was a deal maker playing 4d chess. This is pure surrender. Consequences of this war will be born by US population. What consequences is Trump facing? I say we cut into the $300B by seizing Trump assets. |
DP. You seriously need to stop posting garbage and stick to facts. The U.S. is not sending ANY of our money to Iran. "However, this does not mean the US will be financially involved. One official noted that the US is not required to pay "a cent of money" to Iran, or contribute to the fund. As a hypothetical example, the official said that if Iran "behaves", Emirati authorities could build a power plant in Iran, with US blessing. Trump and other officials have gone to great lengths to make clear to the US public that it will not be paying Iran directly, which the administration says stands in stark contrast to the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the Obama administration." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgmqzr6p9mo "The fund's existence has been previously reported but Reuters is revealing for the first time that more than half of the amount has already been committed and that it will be comprised entirely of private-sector funds. The new fund is a private investment vehicle, not a reconstruction or reparations programme and will not include any government money or grants, the source said, adding that companies based in the U.S., the Gulf Arab states, Asia, South America and Africa have agreed to commit financing. The idea for the fund, which is to be named the Reconstruction and Development Fund, then emerged. The mechanism envisages regional countries contributing in various ways, the Iranian source said. These include securing loans, establishing credit lines or directly financing the reconstruction of sites damaged in the war, including facilities such as the Mobarakeh Steel complex, refineries, airports and, more broadly, infrastructure affected by the conflict." https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/iran-deal-includes-300-billion-fund-more-than-half-which-already-committed-2026-06-16/ |
Again - get a grip and educate yourself. The $300 billion is a reconstruction fund made up of private investors and companies from the Gulf countries and elsewhere around the world. The U.S. isn't paying Iran one cent. And Iran *only* has access to the fund if they comply with the rest of the agreement, to include no longer pursuing a nuclear weapon. The frozen assets (no interest) belonged to Iran in the first place. I'd say this is a pretty good deal. DP |
We're not paying them one dollar. The fund will be made up of private investors. We don't owe them anything. |
Who are these private investors and why would they contribute? |
Exactly. Only a true idiot would believe that some private company is going build Iran a power plant for free. That money is coming from somewhere, even if its origins are disguised so Trump can claim the US isn't paying. |
I bet you also believed that Trump's ballroom was being funded privately. |
Sure. Whatever you say. Meanwhile, more than half the $300 billion fund has already been committed, most likely from companies and industries within the Gulf States. |
Yep, those sheiks are known for just handing over hundreds of billions to their sworn enemies. No doubt this is true. When has Trump ever lied about anything? |
Stop lying. Just stop. Trump messed up bigly and US taxpayers are on the hook for this catastrophe. |
Ok - keep telling yourself that. Nobody trusts anything coming from Trump and his cronies so their assurances about the sourcing of the $300B is probably BS. Given the way Iran has been dogwalking Trump, not holding out too much hope that the final agreement will be any better. Iran still holds all the cards and Trump and his RE agent "negotiators" are out of their depth. Still say that seizing Trump & family assets is a good way to pay down some of the costs of this excursion. |

KAITLAN COLLINS: Are you okay with Iran having missiles?
SEN. ROGER MARSHALL: I prefer that they not, but they have to defend themselves COLLINS: You think Iran needs to be able to defend itself? MARSHALL: I do, otherwise we turn this into a forever war https://bsky.app/profile/atrupar.com/post/3mojp57cao62w The stupidity and gaslighting from the GOP knows no ends. |
The Chinese could increase Irans electrical grid by 50% or replace 1/2 of it for like $14 billion in a year or two with wind, solar and batteries. Iran uses natural gas and oil to generate electricity at a cost of $30 billion a year ie the natural gas and oil use are worth 30 billion in one year. Seems like a good deal for the Chinese and Iranians. Pays for itself within a year. With the sanctions removed it would make sense to sell that natural gas and oil and develop renewables. Iran would see 30 billion net gain in revenues with 4 years. |
| Did it not occur to anyone that signing this surrender at VERSAILLES of all places was a bad look? |
