That sounds like FCPS’ usual shady work. |
Like this thread’s predecessors, this thread should be locked due to all the repeated arguments for and against the review and changes. There is higher new. Start a new thread and when a decision has finally been made. |
This thread is the only source of information. What is posted on FCPS is interesting, but I see what has been done in my area and make assumptions. It is helpful to hear what others are seeing from where they live in Fairfax. That way we might see a pattern of decisions--or not. Why do you care what others like to read? If you are not interested in this thread, then don't read it. |
What. A. Pathetic. Person. You can’t handle that the community is fired up against boundary changes, so, with mere weeks away from the boundary maps being released you seek to stifle dissent. Straight out of an autocrat playbook, 🤮 |
Stop trying to quash speech. The first of three scenarios, focused on attendance islands, has been the recent focus of this thread. The second scenario, split feeders, is due to be made public a week from yesterday, and the final scenario, based on capacity will be made public two weeks from today. Locking this thread would separate out and bury discussion of 1/3 of 3 highly interrelated proposals. STOP. QUASHING. SPEECH. |
Imagine being an actual adult and complaining that the thread needs to be shut down. That type of whiner is the exact person I would avoid in real life like the plague. |
It’s probably a school board member. |
I would hope that the Chairperson has warned the Board about such behavior… |
Most likely. |
What an inane comment. They are floating specific boundary change scenarios now and some of the most insightful analysis about them anywhere appears on this thread. |
When is the next BRAC? Friday? |
The missing Kilmer 200 capacity! And relevant to MS boundaries is question #3 linked below. Cost to establish an AAP Center at Whitman MS. Zero except for any extra transportation for out of base school boundary students. - https://mvonthemove.com/mount-vernon-district-school-board-rep-only-school-based-staff-should-get-7-pay-raise/ https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/DFQJEJ4C7124/$file/FY%202026%20BQ%20Responses%204-11-25.pdf Dunne on cost of Navy IBMY Question #22. He asked the cost for a site without IB but the response gives what it costs for any school that has IB at a primary school. It could be 115k annually per site. Remove the existing program plus other random stuff and raises fo all there is $ for MS after school. Why ask about Navy on the other side of the county? |
I was wondering that, too. Also, Navy feeds into no IB schools. From the sounds of his questions, it appears is very interested in expanding transportation to immersion schools. Repeated questions on that. |
"Protest" may be an exaggeration but there were many public comments and crowded board meetings where Langley parents voiced their concern with the Tysons island. In the end, the board voted for option b, which excluded the Tysons island, rather than the recommended option c, due to "community feedback". https://www.tysonsreporter.com/2021/02/05/fairfax-county-school-board-revises-mclean-langley-pyramid-boundaries/ |
Interesting how few SB members asked budget questions. No questions from the Chair of the Budget Committee? |
