Oh, you are funny. If this happened under Biden, the entire MAGA ecospace would be screaming wanting to know who the "VIP" was, and making up stories that it was a trans black pedophile illegal immigrant. Nothing irrelevant about the VIP's identity or purpose of the trip and I for one will be very interested to find out all the details in the investigation report. |
They were likely flying about all day here and there. With passengers or without. Having their weekly schedule and log books isn’t going to help anything unless there was some massive party right before the 8pm trip. Or they were working 18 hour days. Everything else is very typical, the team flew or drove up, did some briefings, maybe had a meeting, did some helo drills, then eventually did someone’s required night check ride. |
Dude, get a grip. The helo probably drove around 3-5 people that day, or more. You don’t have a real point. You don’t have a “gotcha” anything. Pilots need flight hours to stay valid. |
Oh you like Club Fed tenure-based hiring, titling, promoting, etc. Any warm body will do. Sorry, that’s now how performance and the human capital earnings function works in the real world and performance based work environments. Quality of education, experience, and knowledge matters. Not hanging around the hoop for 20 years. |
I thought most educated people know what an rotc or a service academy grad comes in at. Oh well. |

You make no sense. I guarantee the more experienced, lower-ranking male pilot (who skipped OCS) was a far better pilot than his “superior” with half the experience and 10 fewer years on this earth. |
As a local who regularly flies in and out of DCA, I’m furious they were conducting a training exercise at night in the busy airspace of DCA. They killed a bunch of local kids in the process. So yeah, we want the whole picture. The “why” behind the location and timing of this training exercise is a directly relevant question. If it turns out it was an inappropriate VIP taxi ride and there was otherwise no legitimate military purpose for conducting “training” at this time/place, it compounds the culpability of the Army in the death of all these civilians. Anyone who tells you otherwise has an agenda to either protect the military or the privacy of the individual(s) who got a BH taxi ride that night. (The last time I posted was probably dozens if not 100 pages ago, so just stop with the “it’s just one poster” nonsense). |
CNN said the family stated things the reasons they withheld the name: blah blah z Or CNN said the family withheld the name for awhile, “we at cnn think it’s because X, y or z.” Big difference. OpED garbage needs to get out of journalism reporting on tv and online/print. Back to its own opinion section, the plebes can’t distinguish between fact and opinion. They’ve been dumbed down too much, on both sides. |
Exactly. |
She probably needed the hours and had time that day to fly around. That’s how the reserves and check rides work. Maybe she didn’t review the briefing or flight specs well. Maybe there was a seizure or heart attack onboard. Maybe something jammed and flew things off track involuntarily. |
+1. It is completely relevant. And only made more so by the secrecy. PR fail for sure. Would have been much better just to say the BH “was returning to Belvoir after dropping off Senator Blah blah. He/she is horrified by the tragedy.” Would be old news now. |
I’m not sure if this is a DEI issue or a broader military training issue. But it is definitely questionable why a pilot fairly new out of flight school, likely at her first duty station, with 450 hrs, not only gets tasked as a White House aide, but also gets tasked with flying VIPs and high level government officials around. It seems like that would be a position reserved for senior level pilots. Major airlines require 1500 hours to be a commercial pilot. |
I was mildly interested in who the VIP was, byt seeing how upset someone is about the topic makes me reallllly interested. Must be a real humdinger of a BS VIP. |

The good news is that I am sure a journalist or ten is already on the case. |
