Also, I was told several people were contacted to do interviews or speak to the media and denied them and said no out of respect for the family.

This is true. I am Facebook friends with one of the daughters and she made a post asking people to respect their privacy and not interact with the media.

I knew Amy, though not well, and I was just thinking that her friends had shown admirable class and restraint and then this woman comes along. She clearly had her hair and makeup done for the interview. Sorry, I'm disgusted.

I know families that have known her for 15+ years - none of them are talking to the media/ posting about this online. They too are disgusted by this woman.

As a mother of a 10 year old the interviewee likely never saw the daughter's request. I am pretty sure she did her hair and makeup herself- she looks like that regularly. If the interview was a mistake it was a mistake of a grieving friend.

You don;t need to be told, it should be obvious.

No kidding. She doesn't know when to say when. That could easily be a class distinction.

If you are a friend to this woman, please tell her to stop. I also know friends of Amy who are disgusted.

I know a lot of people here have said they know amy/ the family, and I respect them for staying anonymous and respecting the family during this tragedy. Something about this woman's actions, however, do not sit well with me. What kind of friend would be that calm/ composed/ eager to be on TV when it hasn't even been a week since the murder? Seems like she's trying to get attention and for people to feel sorry for her by pulling the "I knew Amy" card publicly.

Tasteless.

No kidding. Who goes to the media when this kind of thing happens? Ridiculous. She is making herself look terrible.

Not as terrible as the self-righteous mob attacking her.

You are definitely trying to humiliate her, but ironically, you just look petty and competitive--just the sort that's on FB in the first place.

Good point!

Please, please, please drop the discussion about the woman who gave the interview. Just when I think this thread can't get worse, you guys surprise me. If I have to read one more message about her I'm going to gouge my eyes out.

OMG, really, all of you talking about the woman who gave the interview sound like teenagers! this thread is annoying to sift through what with all the tangents but that article someone posted a page or 2 back with more information about the assistant was kind of interesting...the assistant posted pictures of the S family's cars...perhaps the killer somehow knew the assistant or saw those pictures online and was inspired to try rob them/steal their car?

The perp is not going to turn himself in. Why does the media keep reporting this nonsense?

Thank-you to whoever posted the article about SS's assistant. Very interesting.

Also, did anyone else notice that in a previous article that mentioned Win't's previous employment at AIW, it was stated that he has a friend who was recently let go from there. Just curious if the friend was angry about being let go and discussed it with Wint at all.

Based on the Fox article, you can easily find the assistance Instagram page. But, I didn't see much of interest there.

I saw somewhere (now I can't find it) that Wint was employed at AIW from 2003-2005 and had a relative who had worked there and been fired from there more recently. Perhaps, as you say, the friend was angry about being fired and discussed it with Wint, or maybe the relative (or friend, but I think it said relative) could have even been an accomplice?

Anonymous wrote:What incentive could he possibly have to turn self in? No death penalty in dc so that is off the table

I would think his chances of being in jail rest of life are 100% so why not try to run? I can't see him getting out after only 30 yes because he turned himself in and cooperated

agree..he's going to run as long as he can

I believe his incentive is he has three children. They will grow up under this umbrella of their father's acts. Although horrific perhaps he can still be there for them to show them what not to do. Make better choices, etc. Children still end up loving their parent no matter the circumstances.

My guess the crime being solved will help the S children as well. We do not know if he acted alone. Perhaps the authorities already do.

If he has one ounce of true love for his kids, he will turn himself in.

It probably got lost in all the bickering, but I posted a link to an article describing how Wint was arrested while carrying a machete in front of the AIW office in 2010. So, he has a bit of history there.
