No. Look at her history.

Cannon earned a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Judge Steven Colloton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Cannon worked as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.Cannon has been a member of the Federalist Society since 2005.

She is of Hispanic descent and her mother fled communist Cuba.

On April 29, 2020, President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Cannon to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Stalin like doing this. You promote someone who is totally unqualified for the position. They will remain lay to you because they know the only reason they are in the position is because of you.

Are you a lawyer, or familiar with the legal field? She seems to have pretty standard qualifications for becoming a judge.

Lol yes. Qualification = Federalist Society. That’s all you need a wink is good as a nudge.

Trump will grant him the clearances, the judge will approve it and DOJ will fall in line. Yeah Trump is not president and he does not have the power to do that but as long as the judge goes along with it…after this is it really a bridge too far?

We are way past law and order. Wait till November. The courts are packed with republicans judges. It is going to be ugly and shockingly open.

Trump can’t grant clearances anymore.

So says you but the trump judges will see it differently. You understand trump does not have executive privilege but the judge says he does.

Trump-appointed judges should recuse themselves. Failure to do so is a conflict of interest and judicial misconduct.

SCOTUS

SCOTUS hasn’t weighed in yet, dumbass.

But that aside, SCOTUS is barely hanging on to it’s last shreds of legitimacy. Anyone who isn’t a total FedSoc unprincipled hack who thinks this decision isn’t necessarily wrong?

SCOTUS’s legitimacy is shredded; there is nothing left of it. A Trump friendly decision would… I don’t even know. Over the last few decades, the GOP took a thriving, happy country that wanted to be the best and pursued that to the best of its understanding and made it into a banana republic. And all it took was the tribal fealty of Republican voters and a corrupt media.

Who could be appointed Special Master? Wouldn't they need a security clearance? None of Trump's current attorneys could as they don't have security clearances.. Any attorney out there with an active top secret clearance would be one who is representing the government, no?

Either that or the Special Master would only have authorization to review any documents that are not classified. I don't think judges have power to get around that, do they?

So people here are upset because the DOJ has an independent person looking at their investigation. Got it.

One wag on Twitter pointed out that Obama has had all the relevant clearances. Hillary Clinton had pretty high clearances too.

"Independent"? Appointed by DJT and a member of the Federalist Society?

People are upset because the independent person will be looking into issues of executive privilege, and Trump doesn’t have any executive privilege with regard to these documents. It’s like having an independent person look for evidence thar the tooth fairy exists.

Even if they did have the proper clearances, DOJ would never agree to one of Trump’s attorneys being the special master. Both sides need to agree.

I saw someone else suggest that Judge Reinhart should be the special master.
