Donnie Dumptruck says Mar-A-Lago's been searched by the FBI

Why does Cannon’s ruling even matter? It’s not her jurisdiction, right?

Trump will grant him the clearances, the judge will approve it and DOJ will fall in line. Yeah Trump is not president and he does not have the power to do that but as long as the judge goes along with it…after this is it really a bridge too far?

We are way past law and order. Wait till November. The courts are packed with republicans judges. It is going to be ugly and shockingly open.

Trump can’t grant clearances anymore.

So says you but the trump judges will see it differently. You understand trump does not have executive privilege but the judge says he does.

Is there any chance that this judge knows this is all garbage because the evidence is so clear, and she’s just covering her a$$ so that a balanced, high integrity master can shut down Trump’s preposterous claims? Or is this really a “packing of the bench of extremists” that’s been part of Republican plan for decades?

No. Look at her history.

Cannon earned a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Judge Steven Colloton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Cannon worked as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.Cannon has been a member of the Federalist Society since 2005.

She is of Hispanic descent and her mother fled communist Cuba.

On April 29, 2020, President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Cannon to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Stalin like doing this. You promote someone who is totally unqualified for the position. They will remain lay to you because they know the only reason they are in the position is because of you.

This

Judge Cannon was already known to be a nutjob.

Cannon is a very far-right Trump judge who once forced someone to testify in person *while they had COVID.* I also have it on good authority that she is an anti-vaxxer who fought against her court’s vaccine mandate.

We are getting to the point where these rulings by trumpist/republicans/white nationalist judges are just meaningless. It is time to ignore their decrees and let them enforce their rulings.

Won't ODNI need information/evidence from DOJ about who might have handled or had access to the documents while they were at Mar-a-Lago in order to evaluate the extent of any harm to national security? How is ODNI going to get that information if they cannot discuss the documents with DOJ?

To this point, can ODNI intervene somehow to seek clarification of the order or request reconsideration? It seems like the most effective way to get the court to reconsider this moronic decision is if ODNI points out that it cannot carry out a critical national security risk assessment without being able to talk to DOJ about these documents and the related investigation.

The US is already a party. DOJ represents the US government and imicutly represents ODNI as a stakeholder. In this case the National Security Division of DOJ is running the show.

But the judge thinks that DOJ is not part of the executive branch otherwise how can there be executive privilege?

The ruling is absurdly illogical and incoherent.

She should write the truth: I’m a doormat for trump! I have wiped my @$$ with the constitution. #MAGAgarbage

That’s not going to do anything but drive some poor secretary or clerk nuts. She’s not an elected official, public opinion is irrelevant to her (as it should be - regardless of the merits of this decision, judges should make decisions based on the law, not public opinion).

It doesn't appear that this judge made her decision based on law but based on her a$$king her benefactor. In any case, I felt better telling her what I think of her.

What experience should she have had to be appointed to this position? What experience do most qualified appointees have?

She will never hear your message. I get the upset, I think this is outrageous also, but what you’re encouraging people to do won’t have any impact on the judge, it will be a lower level worker who had nothing to do with the decision that will be abused.

Are there any reputable attorneys or legal scholars who don’t think was completely wrong?
