You said the same thing when we were staring at the Biden v. Trump choice. At some point how are Democrats not learning to put up better candidates instead of berating voters about casting a ballot for their terrible candidate or else MAGA. Do better. Nope, the Dems f*cked us all over by putting up Jay Jones for AG. I am not voting for Jay Jones because he is completely unfit for the job that he is running for. I am not going to eat a sh!t sandwich to cover for the Dems inability to run a qualified person for AG. And I’m not the only one with this perspective, but keep screaming into the void. *Shrug*

Jones then mused about a scenario in which he had two bullets and could choose to fire them at Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot — the brutal Cambodian dictator — or then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert (R).

“Spoiler: put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know and he receives both bullets every time,” Jones wrote, according to the screenshot.

The text conversation continued after the call ended. In those further texts, Coyner suggested that Jones had also talked about Gilbert’s children dying in the arms of their mother, Jennifer.

“You weren’t trying to understand,” Coyner texted. “You were talking about hopping [sic] jennifer Gilbert’s children would die”
“Yes, I’ve told you this before,” Jones replied. “Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.”

If a Republican said this about any Democrat you would be screaming to high heavens. The fact you think this isn't so bad says more about you are your willingness to excuse this.

I am guessing his point was around gun violence. Would it take having their own kids shot to convince Rs to support common sense gun control?

Speeding and bad taste texts? I’d still take him over MAGA.

The texts were posted. They were exactly what was said. There’s no context this is acceptable. The fact you are trying to downplay this is just ridiculous.

The entire phone call is missing. You don’t know what was said or even what led up to the conversation. You don’t know the tone.

Are you purposely ignoring the texts? And I might add that jones has not denied anything that was written about the phone call.

We don’t have the context for the texts, period. We don’t know the intent or tone.

He could easily have been joking. Something that was in poor taste and still warranted an apology.

Anyway, my entire point was we don’t have the context to make a fully informed judgement.

DP. The predictable partisanship has come out from both sides, but the bottom line is that Jay Jones lacks the judgment and character to be elected as AG.

I'm planning to split my ticket and hoping this dope and the Democrats who come to his aid for reasons that are easily understood yet also indefensible aren't going to tank the campaigns of Spanberger and Hashmi.

Jones is anything but perfect, and the lack of adequate vetting of potential candidates by the Democrats is a real problem. You should be lucky Miyares is the only GOP candidate I’ll support this cycle given some of the pathetic circling of the wagons we’re seeing.
