Just to make this thread run quicker-

1. 2.0 is a disaster.
2. The teacher's union is to blame.
3. Starr is an idiot.
4. My child is not beng challenged, therefore, 2.0 should be eliminated for all children.
5. I will not apologize for advocating for my child, even at the expense of others.

Now. Can we do something different? How about: what I am going to do to have 2.0 changed is _____________.

A lovely summary, but I think it's missing

6. 2.0 is a conspiracy to hold down the achievement of non-brown people.
7. I don't know a single person who likes 2.0, and if you say you like 2.0, you obviously work for MCPS.

Actually ideally we would end the thread right here.

don't forget 8. 2.0 is to hide the achievement gap between Asians and whites.

Alas, as a European- American, there is some truth to your humor.

9: 2.0 was totally the implementation of Montgomery County and there is nowhere else in the country that is teaching any standard that in any way resembles the standards of 2.0.

Does 2.0 also come with the new MCPS strategy of taking out math (4/5) from the HGCs and tilting HGC entrance to verbal and humanities to redress the "gap" and population imbalance in the elementary school magnet programs [HGCs] back to the early days of the HGCs?

Yes, the good ole days! I like this strategy because I can speak only one language--American-English. That's an advantage don't you think?

I don't understand this last point. Can you explain more?

I am having difficulty understanding the entire thread, too?

I guess this is a humorous thread.

Q: Do the 2.0 supporters have younger kids (ie: so you can't really compare Pre 2.0 vs 2.0 MCPS? As a parent of older kids (including a rising 4th grader/aka 2.0 guinea pig) AND younger kids, I can actually compare the two. Just curious if the supporters have kids in k-3.

I think this goes under "8. 2.0 is to hide the achievement gap between Asians and whites."
