What horror movies should I watch?

Anonymous
I am on a bedrest of sorts and have decided to watch lots and lots of horror movies. I am going to re-watch lots of classic ones but am open to new ones too. What horror movies should definitely be on my list?

Not into present day horror fan (old school like Frankenstein, the original Mummy, etc), but watch Twilight Zone. The series was classic and well written. I think they usually broadcast on the Sci-Fi channel. I invested in the entire DVD set and still re-watch them.

Feel better!

I really enjoyed The Cabin in the Woods...it might be on Netflix Instant, too.

Also, Let Me In and Dawn of the Dead.

Rather than watching "Let Me In," watch the far superior (and creepier!) original, "Let the Right One In."

Cabin in the Woods is awesome.

Insidious is creepy as hell.

I did NOT like Cabin In The Woods, FWIW.

Misery
Rosemary's Baby
Carrie

Last week I watched

Cabin in the Woods
Insidious
Don't be afraid of the Dark

Don't be Afraid of the Dark is the one I've thought about the most. It's creepy in a different way than the other two. I don't want to give it away but you should watch it.

No OP but you couldn't pay me enough to watch that. I have a bad case of Coulrophobia.

How is "Mama"?

Yeah, but it's Swedish. The American versions are usually much better, including in this instance.

The Shining is a classic and one of the best King adaptations.
