They hired a new coach promising full time work which meant 2 teams. One was U9. They could not get enough players for another team so they reneged and told him sorry they can only pay 1/2. He left and took his team with him. So they shut down U9.
Parents got the short end.Typical antics of a dying club.
Anyone have any insight to FCV's field space issue? Earlier this year the club told us they were fifth on the priority list at Evergreen. It was a regular occurrence this year for FCB to have an entire field for one team, with FCV on the adjacent field with 3 teams. Makes me wonder how the priority works at Evergreen. Everyone and their dog uses it including lacrosse, flag football, regular football, field hockey, even Loudoun soccer. Maybe it's not a priority system at all, and it just comes down to money. They have Fusion, but it had no lights when we were there.
Since I have not heard anything, I presume they have not found a suitable location to build their own fields. That's gotta be a tough go in Loudoun county. Their location works against them a bit with this, they cannot really go east (would be even closer to other clubs), or west (increases commute for some players already at their breaking point).
