I can never find anything since they reorganized - chips are divided between 3 different aisles, small juice boxes are no where near the other drinks, ice cream cones are next to the hot cocoa...
And the produce is awful - bananas are either green and hard (and never ripen) or I'm picking through trying to find the one with the fewest black spots. The meat looks rancid and tastes awful and twice, I've bought cookies from their deli/bakery that tasted like play doh... So frustrated. |
| I like all the Giants near me: Bethesda at Arlington Road and Westbard, and even Friendship Heights for picking up a few things. No problem at all with bananas. |
| OP here - ugh - I'm near the Westbard one and hate it! |
|
Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter...they all suck.
I cry when I remember Sainsbury's, Waitrose, and Tesco's. Wholefoods has superior produce, but prices are insane. |
I know! Except that for me it's Monoprix in France... but I know what you mean. |
| I refuse to eat any meat from Giant, it scares me. The produce is pretty gross too. It's sad that you have to go to stores like Whole Foods and pay so much to get good quality meats and produce. |
| Ah, Waitrose. Such a lovely shop. |
|
My Giant is great. Between that and my CSA, I'm golden.
Whole Foods can eat a d. |
| I want my Ocado :wail: |
| Agree. Giant is gross. They need to revamp. Who buys fish from there anyways? |
| I want Wegmans |
| Agree, wouldn't buy fish at Giant. But the produce at the Bethesda stores is pretty decent IMO. It's sometimes better than the nearby Whole Foods, esp. the Friendship Heights WF. |
ditto! |
Yes. |
Want Wegmans? You're not the only ones! Look at this link: http://www.bizjournals.com/washington/blog/2013/06/what-could-a-wegmans-at-walter-reed.html?page=all |
