Ariel Castro sentencing hearing happening right now, he's supposed to make a statement and apologize

So, Castro's sister says he will be making a lengthy statement "explaining his life and who he really is, and people will see the other side of Ariel Castro ... not the monster that everyone thinks he is,"


Um, who even gives a crap about his "other side"? He also beat and tortured his wife and his own children. How much of a "good side" can he possibly have? I am curious to see him give his statement though.

How can you possibly apologize for brutally raping and torturing and stilling a decade of someone's life? It's almost laughable to think about (if it wasn't so horribly tragic). If I was one of his victims, I would actually be offended by his "apology"

Michelle Knight is suppose to do the victims' statement. Unbelievable if she does. I think I would want to just shoot him there in the court if I was her.

I don't think he should be allowed to speak (I realize this is a basic right we all have as Americans) but after what he's done to those poor women I don't think he should be allowed to say anything to try & justify it - he is a monster. End of story.

Didn't Castro's own son call him a monster, saying that he was repeatedly beat as a child? And that he watched his dad severely beat his mom, eventually leading to her death?

I think life in jail is a worse punishment than death, but his monstrous shittiness doesn't deserve a voice.

I just keep thinking this is the face of pure evil, he beat his wife and kids until she was finally able to escape and then kidnaped three women and held them prisoner for 10 years. How his sister is able to defend him I'll never understand - "other side" is bs there is nothing good about this man.
