Meghan gave up her family long before she married Harry. It was no sacrifice for her ( except Mom) Harry it seemed had a good relationship with his up until he met Meghan. I dont think it was coincidence. |
Harry was Meghan’s ticket in. Into the limelight, into society, into fame, into a brand.
Meghan was Harry’s ticket out. Out of the Firm, out of William’s shadow, out of his life of duty. They’re made for each other. |
Two of his close friends (from way before Meghan) now actually live in Montecito. You wouldn't know that since there are no palace sources in California. |
In a way, Harry is doing what his forebears have done for centuries. The second (and third, fourth..)sons or daughters were married off to people in other countries to increase the Crown’s connection to those countries. If they played it right, the BRF could increase their influence and popularity in the US through Prince Harry and Meghan. |
![]() That interview shows his loyalty to blood and country gracefully. He was driven out by the tabloids, left hanging by the palace, and so he protected his family. He has been consistent in that story, and the interview reflects it. He comes across very, very well, and in the process, the palace looks (at best) weak and ineffectual. Man, it's pretty clear the resident haters have literally no understanding of how PR and marketing work. |
He actually goes out of his way in the interview to establish that he still has a good relationship with his grandparents. He made them look better than the British papers have |
DP. I haven't seen it, but his family includes his wife and child/ren and it includes his brother, father and grandparents. His family is "the palace". |
Who cares about the BRF in America and vice versa? |
Margaret did not have any money independent of her sister's the queen. She had no other options, so she went back to being second fiddle to Elizabeth and living off the taxpayers. |
The man Margaret married was also her second choice and not the love of her life. She was refused permission to marry the man she actually fell in love with for five years and eventually gave him up because she didn’t want to lose the royal perks. Harry is the exact opposite. He went for the woman he loved and he’s already financially free. Within the next few years he’ll be the wealthiest British royal aside from the monarch on top of that. |
Margaret and Elizabeth were also woefully uneducated, which Elizabeth realized once she became queen, so it's not like Margaret had the means to strike out on her own. |
He makes the individual relationships look more normal, but that doesn't change the fact that the palace looks weak. They wouldn't be whining about the interview via the tabloids if they didn't know how bad it made the palace look. The whiny articles about being "shown up" are proof. The palace looks whiny and weak. |
I don't know how old any of you are, but I am a middle-aged person. When I was younger, I couldn't wait to get away from my family, my hometown. I went to college in a neighboring state, where I currently live. Now as a middle aged adult, I love being back in my home state. As you get older, you appreciate what is familiar, you gravitate towards what is familiar. I predict he'll go back to what is familiar to him, without or without her, once this period of finding his freedom gets old. |
To be fair, the word on Harry is that he's not that brilliant. |
You have got to be joking. Who would want to hear from Harry if he wasn't a prince? Their income depends entirely on them selling the royal connection. You think Netflix and Spotify gave them a contract for their accomplishments in, I dunno...cinema production? Acting? Harry is getting the contracts that he is for now other reason that he's a prince. |
