The threat still exists. That was just the first attempt. |
And the even scarier part is the number of people who wouldn’t have been upset about losing our Republic. |
The majority of Rs don't think 1/6 was a big deal, and some think they were just tourists, so yea. |
Some might argue that the first attempt, at least in recent years, was the 2019 impeachment that in retrospect looks like it was based on the flimsiest of grounds. There was something about a phone call and a whistleblower, basically a lot of inside baseball in DC resulting in an attempted overturning of a National election. |
Yes. Some idiots think that. We just have to out vote them. |
Alec Baldwin,
Alec Baldwin, OK? Gotta watch him, A very dangerous man. He’s a confirmed Democrat, if you didn’t know. A member of the Democrat Party. That’s what they’re saying. |
Americans have the shortest attention span. Now Virginians are about to elect a Trumpy - just because MacAuliffe made a stupid comment in a debate. I’m ticked at people from Virginia who aren’t holding the Republicans accountable for their horrible, horrible actions over the past five years. Come on, Virginia, hold the line and show Republicans that they can’t win elections until they disavow the sedition. |
The Virginia race is close but despite what the media is saying Glen Youngkin will not win. McCauliffe is ahead in the polls similar to Northam was (1 to 3%) and Northam ended up winning by 9%. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2021/governor/va/virginia_governor_youngkin_vs_mcauliffe-7373.html Results from 2017: https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/virginia-governor-election-gillespie-northam The 2017 polls showed the race being far closer than reality. These numbers are similar today for Youngkin. https://ballotpedia.org/Virginia_gubernatorial_election,_2017#Polls |
Yes that's right. It will be a landslide for McCauliffe. No need to vote in this one, stay home and safe away from the COVID infested unvaxxed R voters who might slither to the polls. |
The main reason is that the R's have turned into the "win at all costs" party. And they don't care what rules and laws get broken as long as they get what they want. For them, the ends justify the means. They have no standards of honor, virtue or truth, just winning. |
Flimsiest grounds? Trump literally used the power of his presidency for personal gain. |
The BBC says Trump lost 700 million in wealth while president. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56438914 |
+1 And when they win they have no interest in governing. |
This wasn’t directly about monetary gain, for once. He wanted Ukraine to announce an investigation into Biden because Trump knew Biden could beat him and he wanted him out of the race. Biden not running was the gain Trump was looking for, and he was willing to withhold Congressionally appropriated military aid to get it. |
If Trump had been impeached, someone from his own administration would have taken his place. That's not overturning an election. |
