Obama is not God

I am glad he won, but some people are acting like he is the second coming. I know everyone is caught up in the excitement of the first AA president - but put that aside and realize that he is still a politician, he will break promises, he will make people angry and he will not be able to solve many of the issues we are facing today. He is not a miracle worker and surprise! he is not the first AA person to achieve and inspire. Part of it is his fault for building expectations and false hope.

I see where the OP is coming from.
Obama sure could talk the talk. Now, I'm just waiting to see if he can walk the walk. I heard someone say that Obama was given the presidency, not a magic wand. That was a good way to think of it. |

| One would hope that we have the patience to support our chosen president during these difficult years to come. Sometimes I think we're an impatient country; we need immediate gratification. We really have to see him through and NOT expect immediate results. Remember that there's been a lot of damage done by former leaders. |

Come on PP - read closely. I said the first appointment, I didn't say it was a cabinet post! I think most people know that Chief of Staff isn't a cabinet post. |
