Where are the blacks and the women and Jews in the cabinet? Looks like "God" decided to bring the Clinton crew back into power. Yuk.

The one appointment that has been made - Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel - is an orthodox Jew! Good grief.

How can Rahm Emanuel be orthodox-he does not wear a yamakuh (sp) and he is clean shaven.

He's not ultra Orthodox. There are different levels. For example, there are Catholics who are Opus Dei.

I know everyone is caught up in the excitement of the first AA president - but put that aside and realize that he is still a politician, he will break promises, he will make people angry and he will not be able to solve many of the issues we are facing today. He is not a miracle worker and surprise! he is not the first AA person to achieve and inspire. Part of it is his fault for building expectations and false hope.

I don't want to be a downer, but he isn't GOD!

I agree, first and foremost, he is a POLITICIAN. He is not Martin Luther King either.

No, he's not Martin Luther King. (And let's keep in mind that there are other great men and women of color out there, too.) But he got to where he is b/c of King and others. So perhaps he'll inspire this next generation to go even further.

I agree with this. Obama's victory paves the way for people of color, not just black Americans. In this country, he's already paved the way for Republican governor Bobby Jindal, 37 yo Indian American. I heard he'll be starting his own quest for the Rep's nomination soon. In France, black French are inspired. Children in Indonesia and children white and of color in countless countries find inspiration to reach for higher aspirations and ambitions.

And people from the University of Idaho (or similar) are also inspired.
