Although I took it that the "good grief" in the earlier post was directed at those criticizing Obama before he even started on his cabinet, I don't think careful reading clears up the ambiguity. But I do think the poster who took umbrage might at least be charitable enough to ask what the intent was if s/he thought it was intended to be anti-semitic. BTW, I think I read that Emanuel served in the Israeli army; can anyone verify my memory on this? I hope that does not bias Obama's chance to act as an honest broker in the Middle East. To declare my own biases, I'm a non-Zionist, agnostic Jew. |

BTW, concerning the question of whether Obama is, or thinks he is, God, is it only a coincidence that Obama happens to sound like Farsi for "he is with us" and his first appointment is named Emanuel, which sounds like the Hebrew for "God is with us". Do you think BO is subtly clarifying which "he" his name refers to?

| The kind of crap I just read on this post is the exact reason I think it is a huge mistake that Obama is going to be our President. You guys are scary as hell. What's the difference between - what you consider - "leftist" extremist views you see posted on this board (which are few, I might add) and the evangelical right who kept Bush in office? Speaking in tongues is normal by your standards, I suppose. Personally? I'd rather "worship" a man who stands for peace than one who idolizes war. If we elected one more war president this time around, there would be NO side to stick with. |
