| Historically, how many non BLC players typically make Cap Blue? |
Depends on each year. For 2028s i dont think one single BLC girl made Capital (Either Blue or Orange). Not sure on the 2029s. 2027's had many BLC girls (7+) make Cap Blue and then a few made Orange |
Sorry, read your question wrong. Thought you asked how many BLC girls make it. |
|
I think "historically" does not apply anymore, things are changing now with
BLC essentially owning Capital with the merger, and Bres with his daughter's 2030 team and her friends, it will essentially be whatever he says goes. If his opinion didn't matter, then why was he the ONLY parent allowed to be at the evaluation clinics? I think he will get to choose his 2030 team as with other years on BLC and he may even coach it too. |
| I didn't realize how much of this thread was BLC parents. Hope your girls land where you want. |
Can someone come back to this thread later and let us now how many of each club makes 2030 Capital? Since they don't post their rosters, I'm not sure how everyone figures it out |
They do! And there are some talented girls but a lot of undersized girls on BLC. I doubt Capital is looking for a roster of players all under 5’3”. |
I really don't understand why you think he would get this much power. I don't read the BLC-Capital relationship as he owns Capital. On the BLC website it says, "Bethesda Lacrosse Club (BLC) has been selected by Capital Lacrosse Club (CLC) to become the Capital Academy Middle School Program." That sounds more like Capital owns the BLC girls MS program than the other way around. Capital used to do special 8th grade practices with both Stars and BLC but that the St. James screwed up the relationship. What I assumed was that now, they would only do those special Capital Coach run practices with BLC. Mine are all assumptions, what is the real deal? |
And I bet she has pushed for some players who have not worked out either.... |
Yes, please do come back to this thread later - inquiring minds want to know. Seems to be a lot of negativity over a tryout that hasn't even happened yet. Interested in seeing how this pans out. |
I can see how it can be interpreted as negativity, but I don’t think that’s the intention. The majority of girls who should make cap blue do make it, but there are always surprises every year. Just consider other options if things don’t work out in your favor. |
what are those options? |
| I hope you guys aren’t passing all this stress down to your DD’s. Try to remember that it’s a game, they’re kids, and everything will be ok. If they want to go to college, they will go to college. Folks need to stop trying to live through their kids and stop worrying about whose child is attending what. It’s no wonder so many girls have anxiety and depression and a low sense of self worth. Please remember the rising rates of suicide amongst female athletes |
I'm the PP - totally agree! |
