He should have appointed Preet Bharara as AG. |
I’m glad it’s Biden and not the pompadoured traitor, but I wish Biden would just bare knuckle box with the GOP. I wish he hadn’t put Garland in there, whom I’m sure is a wonderful human being, but I want the Democrats to choose figurative violence for once in their damn lives. |

This seems interesting: Two Jan 6 figures, a planner and a rally organizer, tell a Rolling Stone reporter that Rep Gosar told them he had spoken with Donald Trump and he promised a blanket pardon for all the insurectionists. They further claim they were in meetings with : M T Greene. "Along with Greene, the conspiratorial pro-Trump Republican from Georgia who took office earlier this year, the pair both say the members who participated in these conversations or had top staffers join in included Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas)." A third informant met with Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. This info has already been communicated to the Commision. The article says the three met with the reporter over a period of weeks and say they attended "dozens" of meetings with the people listed above.

You cannot pardon a co-conspirator.
If you didn't think you were doing anything illegal, you wouldn't be negotiating a pardon ahead of time. They were just tourists. Boebert's "the speaker has left the Chamber" tweet now becomes a felony of her communication with the insurrectionists is proven. |
Several news organizations are carrying this story today but crickets from DCUM. |
Too busy getting trolled on the FCPS forum. But honestly I know I’m not engaging here as much as I used to because the astroturfing is just out of control. Tired of arguing with GOP trolls. |
I’ve lost hope that any repercussions will fall on any elected official. It’s been almost a year. We’re stressing over key elections that should not be close and would not be close if those who know the truth about how corrupt the GOP really is, did something about it. As it is, Trump is still polling great with GOP voters. Makes me sick. |
At least the GOP itself shrinks every day. But moderates don’t like the Dems right now, and that won’t change in a year. And then there’s redistricting…. 2022-26 will be sad times for America. |
Does it? Cold comfort. |
By implication he's arguing that his speech to march on the Capitol and the efforts to overturn the election were official acts of state. That it wasn't his campaign that was contesting things. Instead it was the office of the President.
In other words, he just admitted to multiple severe and highly illegal abuses of power. |
