How on earth are we 2 hours past when VDH posted the new numbers and we don’t have more information about them from the state or the counties? |
If we're not past that point now, we soon will be. |
It’s here and it’s spreading in the community. Stay home as much as you can and wash your hands all the time, but especially after you touch things in a store or whatever. That’s where we are. If you get sick hopefully you will be in the vast majority who can recover at home. That’s where we are in this. On a scary note - this is NOT the big one. It’s serious but most people recover on their own. Imagine if the virus was more deadly. |
With you already on all of that. But we need transparency and timely information right now until other people wake up to the reality. If they can't achieve that when we're at only 30 confirmed cases, Lord help us when those numbers get higher |
The most important thing is to let us know if these people got the virus through travel or close contact with someone who travelled (family member), or if any of these cases are presumed community spread (no recent travel, no known exposure to someone who recently traveled). Have they announced if there is actual community spread? |
No. Which is BS as we know because of the limited testing. But they delay in providing information about these latest ones is inexcusable because so many people are latching onto that claim as credible and reason to believe people are overreacting |

this article has good information about extrapolating how many cases are out there based on confirmed cases and the experiences of China, Italy, etc. |
Finally get the answer, yes, community spread - people are testing positive with no travel history and no known contact with people with COVID-19.
My guess they held off on releasing these details to let Northam take credit for closing schools first. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2020/03/13/coronavirus-dc-maryland-virginia-updates/#link-Y2XKOZA2XRDHNLTYO3GT7R2MBY |
3 new cases in Arlington from DOH website.
Any info on who they are? Any cases related to schools? |
41 cases in Virginia now

What I noticed was that Fairfax county went from 6 to 10, Arlington from 6 to 7. |
I wish there was more specific info. Community spread? International travel? Anything. |
Someone who works at WM is positive via being in contact with a prior positive person. That should account for the new James City County one.

This is what exponential growth means.
One week ago there were 0 cases. 3 then 5 then 9 then 17 then 30 now 41. And this is with the bare minimum of testing. Please explain this to all the people who you know that refuse to stay home and flatten the curve. |
