Statements like this just crack me up. PP, you have ZERO idea who voted for Trump. Hint: many, many people that YOU know voted for him. And guess what? They're good people. They simply don't agree with your agenda. That you actually think they would engage you in conversation about their voting choices only emphasizes what an utter imbecile you are.

Agree! I SMH at the liberals here who start off a post with "OK, you Trumpster a-hole racist, tell me......." and then they expect you to lower yourself to engage with someone who talks to you like that.

And you're also right that these sanctimonious liberals who say that you can't be a nice person and a Trump voter would be shocked to learn that some of the nicest, most giving people they know voted for Trump. It doesn't fit their preconceived irrational belief, so they deny it.

Agree. There are no good Nazis, no good rapists, no good Kluckers, no good terrorists, ... and there are no good Trump supporters. They all need to be removed. They know what he is doing. They are supporting an anti-American traitor and thief. They are a threat to our society and should be removed.

This is Nazi speech. And I don't use that term lightly.

Ironic, isn't it? The liberal calls Trump voters Nazis, and then advocates doing what a Nazi would do.

My post is sincere. I think the modern GOP is basically evil so I am having a hard time understanding how someone can still be a Republican if they are a decent person.

You can begin by entertaining a possibility that the Democratic party failed to offer compelling solutions to the challenges faced by millions of people in this country. The fact that these people are different from you and lived in different communities doesn't make them less deserving to vote or shape the path this country takes.

Right - and how's that Trump choice working out for them?

This does sound like Nazi thinking. How ironic it is that it's coming from a liberal. I have one question for the OP and pp. Do you really want to live in a country where everyone thinks like you, supports what you do, votes like you, etc. That has happened in history many times before and we know how those countries turn out.

You mean, Obama gave them shoes before gassing them over a hundred times while in office?

Some of you folks are truly deranged. Not all Dem voters, mind you, but some of you are truly crazy horrible people.

And despite that, we talk to you.

I definitely don’t want everyone to think like I do. But you don’t let a rabid dog sleep in your house. Traitors are subject to the law. Anti-American trump supporters are bad for the county. “Making america great again” requires removing such traitors from society.

Perhaps look inward and question whether or not your opinions are based on fact, rather than opinion. Ask your new friend what sources they read, and then actually read those sources and see if there are any facts there you can research deeper. Look for actual documents, rather than opinion.

Exactly. This type of thing is happening all over, and liberals are learning that their kind, generous friends are Republicans - and can't process. I told the story of a neighbor who drove a mutual neighbor to Duke for cancer treatments, multiple times, and he voted for Trump. Liberals were in disbelief, and finally "processed" this story by saying that either a) I lied about it, or b) the kind neighbor was not a Trump voter.

What these liberals seem incapable of doing is accepting the fact that there are many kind, wonderful, giving Republicans - and that they, the liberals, have been wrong with their judgments. But it's sort of like Javert and Valjean - they have their entire existence so wrapped up in hating what they assume is a bad person that they cannot live with the truth. And the truth is: they're WRONG.

I'm a liberal who thinks there are kind and moral Trump voters. But their support of him is at odds with their morality. This is fact. Lots of good people do bad things occasionally, so I won't cut them off, but I'm not going to pretend that Trump support is consistent with morality. It isn't.

There are also a lot of people who are racist and nasty who occasionally do good things. Their good acts are inconsistent with their general personality.

People are rarely easily placed in a box.

The truth is, Trump is a person who is dividing this country because he is terrible. And he has tricked a bunch of people into supporting him. And a bunch of other people have decided that supporting him in spite of his horribleness is worth the trade off in what he does for tax policy. And a the rest of us are standing, askance, watching half the country be uncharacteristically stupid and less surprisingly self serving and wondering what the hell is happening. Eventually Trump will be gone. We can't tar and feather all Trump supporters, we need them to not dig themselves into this Trump defending hole for the rest of their voting lives. It is hard for people to change their minds, they don't do it when people attack them full bore.
