I am, as a white Jew, more afraid if BLM and Muslim extremists as both have said they want me dead. Progressive liberals give them a pass.

Ironic that BLM, a group determined to expose and get sympathy for bigotry against blacks, is bigoted against Jews. In fact, I find it ironic that blacks, in general, are more antisemitic than other groups. Asians appear to be the least antisemitic.

Farrakhan is a BLM supporter. The anti-Semitic views are no surprise. Farrakhan hates Jews, whites and gays. He is big on conspiracy theory - claiming the Jews own Hollywood, the government and the media.

So Farrakhan's a bigoted asshole. That doesn't make everyone in BLM a bigot. Just as a Republican Party member who is a bigot doesnt make the entire Republican Party a racist organization.

It only takes one powerful bigot to sway a nation.

Stop being simple.

Look, the BLM official manifesto is problematic when it comes to Israel because of the "genocide" language. However, it would be a mistake to assume that criticism of Israel's aggressive expansion = a bias against American Jews. It is a criticism of official Israeli government policy. I don't assume that American Jews are responsible for Israeli government policy. Do you?

As a Jew, it has been my experience that there is a definite connection between anti-Israel sentiment and anti-Semitism. I've heard the arguments to the contrary, but it is not true. Some of the hateful anti-Israel slurs hurled in my direction not only fail to conceal contempt for Jews, but displays an attitude that also incites violence and prejudice against us. This is particularly true on college campuses, with the BDS movement, when dealing with impressionable and naive young students who do not understand the situation facing a country surrounded by many Arab nations sworn to its destruction.

While I do not agree with certain aspects of Israeli policy, it is frightening to me when I hear broad-ranging, exaggerated, and one-sided rhetoric against Israel with no recognition of the wrongdoing by its enemies.

Uh, no, that is not accurate. The bigot has to have allies who are well-placed within the political and economic systems in order to affect policy and the nation's direction. Farrakhan is a huge asshole but the truth is that his power is extremely limited. He can't even garner support from the majority of BLM activists. Calling me "simple" isn't going to change that.

I don't think ashamed is the word you want, when people are being outwardly assaulted by liberals, and having their homes and personal property vandalized. You don't antagonize a violent individual (break in and you have a whole other situation....)

Where are these "outward" assaults by liberals happening?

And "ashamed" is the word. Otherwise there would be zero reason to lie to anonymous pollsters who don't give a crap who you're voting for. You're at zero physical risk, or even of being gently mocked.

DP. No risk of being even gently mocked? Take a look at the venom that spews from the mouths of liberals, right here on this forum. If the Dems had put up instead someone halfway acceptable (rather than manipulate things because it was Hillary's turn), Trump would have been done long ago. Isn't it strange that nobody (other than a couple of ridiculous candidates) challenged Hillary for the nomination?

There's no risk of being mocked by a pollster. If you're too afraid of saying to an anonymous pollster that you're voting for Trump, yes, you are ashamed (rightfully). And take a look at the venom that spews equally from the mouths of Trump supporters. We Democrats have put up an excellent candidate - one who has been subject to a forty year smear campaign, and one a majority of primary voters elected. Nothing was manipulated. And you still have nothing she's actually done wrong.

PP. First, not everyone fails to make the distinction between Israel and Jews, but there is enough blurring of the lines among the general population that it is a very real threat. And second, when you say you're opposed to Israel, do you mean you are opposed to certain aspects of it's policy or you are opposed to everything sbout it? is there anything its enemies have done that might have influenced Israel's policies? Or is everything Israel's fault?

I am married to a non-Jew who's family conflates hatred of Israel with bigotry against Jews - and said so, in front of their three grandchildren. Just watch what you say. My kids don't have much respect for them.

What has Hillary done wrong? Since there are two people running, more to the point: what has Hillary done wrong that Donald hasn't done, and worse? Emails? Who gives a flying f? It wasn't illegal, Powell did it, Condi did it, hell, Bush did everything that way and not only did he not erase everything, but there was no investigation. None. Benghazi? I'm sorry - you republicans cannot underfund security abroad and then be surprised when bad stuff happens! And how many Embassy staff died under Bush - again, nary a word, nary a glance from anyone who might have found any wrongdoing. Nothing. All you have is partisan horsepucky.

So it is you who is too far from reality to have a discussion. I know that in your right wing media bubble you feel entitled to believe an alternate set of facts, but they're not real.

Farrakhan's NOI has supporters in mosques housed in over 120 cities. NOI has anywhere from 20-50,000 supporters.

point is this - that while not all BLM supporters are NOI adherents, there's still overlap

If you think Farrakhan isn't a persuasive leader who feeds off those who hate whites, Jews and the LBGT community, you're living in a bubble.
