This is true, but it was not a good strategy on her part to alienate anyone at this point. I found it also ironic that Trump said something like: "She could shoot 20,000 people in the heart, and she wouldn't be prosecuted", while he said, "I could shoot someone on 5th ave and not lose a single vote." Moron. |
That entire thing was misinterpreted. He was saying that 47% of Americans pay no federal income tax, and the people on the "receiving" end of tax receipts are not likely to care how taxes are spent - and not likely to vote for someone who wants to reign in spending. (Someone twisting that around to ay it's racism just shows how carelessly the charge of racism is made.) I for one think that EVERYONE should have some skin in the game, even a modest $100 payment per person. |
It's not like those people are going to vote for her anyway. And they are racist, xenophobic assholes. Dancing around the issue does not cut it anymore. This is not in the same league as Romney's comments. Romney was disparaging poor people, she is disparaging white supremacists. I'm ok with that |
Carrying water I see. It's pretty heavy, huh? |
*you* are ok with that, but people on the fence may not be. I understand she was referring to the truly deplorables (racists, and what not), but the media and her supporters are *only* going to pickup on the first few words, "Half of his supporters are a basket of deplorables"... and not the rest. At this point, she needs to watch what she is saying. She is not like Teflon Don where he seems to be able to say anything and it hardly affects him. For goodness sake, he has stated that he admires Putin more than our current US leader. Reagan, his hero, is probably turning over in his grave. As much as Reagan may not have liked a liberal POTUS, he would not be ok with allying with Putin, who is a despot. |
He wasn't disparaging poor people. Just making the correct observation that people who don't pay taxes - and certainly those who are the "takers" versus the makers - are not likely to vote Republican. They like the Democratic platform better, for obvious reasons. It would be great if some employee secretly taped what Hillary was saying to her major donors in private (or perhaps what she said in her Wall Street speeches, hmmm?) and then splashed it all over the news. That's what happened in Romney's case. |
Ah, poor wittle you. The truth hurts, doesn't it. Poor, poor, wittle you in the deplorables basket--where you belong. |
Hahaha. In Hillary's case it's enough to make up things about what she has said and done, and they become facts in the MSM. Please |
He was incorrect. Plenty of very poor people vote Democrat, yes. Plenty also vote Republican. |
Scary adjectives. Most of them describe W's cabinet and closest advisers. Who currently support your choice for president. |
| How should she describe racist, sexist, bigoted, violent, angry low information voters? |
Didn't he say something like: my job is not to worry about those [the 47%] people.... He lost my vote with that one because my one sibling and parents are part of the 47%. I worry about them, too. |
Trump spews insults all the time. This was merely a description. |
LOL! |
+1 Saying that half the people who support Trump are "deplorable" reminds me of the same divisive rhetoric coming out of the Obama camp. He referred to Republicans as the "enemy". The "we vs. them" mentality is being promoted from both sides of the aisle. |
