From CNN's Zoe Sottile
Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Gregory Bovino accused the man killed by federal agents Saturday morning of trying to “massacre law enforcement,” although it’s unclear whether the man was holding a weapon at the time he was shot. “This looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement,” Bovino said. Minneapolis police have said the man was a lawful gun owner with a permit. The Department of Homeland Security has said he was armed and that agents fired “defensive shots” after trying to disarm him. |

This is it. Today is the day that everything has changed. Our country is at war with itself. |
This. Unfortunately it’s a vocal minority. A minority that has lots of time to push lies on social media. But the wheels are definitely coming off the MAGA bus. Vance is starting to hedge his bets. Trump is letting Miller explain it so he can throw him under the bus if it goes sideways. |
What did you expect from someone who enjoys parading around in a Nazi greatcoat? |
Notice that they can’t say that he tried to shoot them. |
That video was harrowing to watch. He wasn't even really resisting. This was an execution. |
Absolutely false. There is more and more video getting posted. The guy ICE murdered today was doing NOTHING but recording them on his camera. ICE came toward him and peppersprayed a woman next to him. He tried pulling her to safety and then ICE assaulted him and wrestled him to the ground. Video marked as NSFW but here's the link https://x.com/Dyllonii/status/2015139986589319435 This is TOTALLY on ICE. He was doing nothing wrong, they escalated and assaulted him for no good reason. Homicide. ICE officers need to go to jail over this. |
Exactly what I suspected. They're just blatantly lying about something on video. I mean this same guy claimed he was keeping rhe community safe when asked about detaining a 5 year old so it tracks. A man helping a woman off the ground and a preschooler in a bunny hat are terrifying to them. |
They certainly can take the agent in for questioning and decide charges while he is in their custody. Local police have Forensics and a Homicide Division. They are far better equipped to investigate this shooting than ICE agents with 47 days of training. The FBI could also investigate it but ICE does not have the capacity to investigate a homicide. |
Anything less than all citizens cowtowing in fear and silently obeying all orders is terrifying to them. |

President Donald Trump claimed that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are “inciting insurrection,” insinuating that they called off local police from protecting federal immigration officers at the shooting scene on Saturday.
“Where are the local Police? Why weren’t they allowed to protect ICE Officers? The Mayor and the Governor called them off?” Trump posted on Truth Social. “It is stated that many of these Police were not allowed to do their job, that ICE had to protect themselves — Not an easy thing to do!” There is no evidence that Walz and Frey called off local authorities from assisting federal agents. In fact, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told CNN that federal officials attempted to prevent local police from accessing the scene. Trump also posted an image of what he said was the deceased man’s gun, questioning why there were “two additional full magazines.” “This is the gunman’s gun, loaded (with two additional full magazines!), and ready to go – What is that all about?” Trump said. The Minneapolis police chief said the man was believed to be a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry. Trump also claimed, without evidence, that the events are “a COVER UP” for theft and fraud in the state, referring to the long-running controversy over alleged fraudulent safety-net programs in Minnesota. “The Mayor and the Governor are inciting Insurrection, with their pompous, dangerous, and arrogant rhetoric!” he posted, calling them “sanctimonious political fools” and saying, “LET ICE PATRIOTS DO THEIR JOB!” |
I agree with everything else but it isn't true that they aren't deployed in Texas and Florida. They are in the top three for detentions. They are just doing it differently, not aggressively and on the street like in blue states. Their defense is because the red states "cooperate." Obviously they want to punish and terrorize blue states. |
