Maybe it would be a good thing if Trump limited international students at t100 schools?

I'm pretty sure the federal government has the legal authority to issue or deny visas to foreign students.

Exactly.

Maybe the government should limit the number of international students at all top schools. Getting in and the cost of attending is just too much.

Harvard University, a cornerstone of American academia, is increasingly relying on foreign workers through programs like H-1B visas and Optional Practical Training (OPT), often at the expense of American white-collar workers. As American professionals face growing challenges in securing jobs, Harvard’s hiring practices raise serious concerns about economic fairness and ideological influence.

Harvard’s reliance on H-1B (1,200+ hires) and OPT (15,525+ positions) displaces American workers.

Why cant Democrats be the ones working for US workers first? We thank Trump for revoking Harvard’s license and urge extending this to all colleges.

Agreed.

I’m in favor of the international students. Every single white kid I know that went to HYP, with a few exceptions, went into either Finance, Law or Consulting. These things do nothing to further society.

If they can’t come here, they can’t steal our intellectual property.

We know, you hate that.

It sounds like you don't understand finance, law or consulting.

NO!
-Left leaning moderate who does not want the government dictating every decision!

Then stop grabbing our tax dollars!

Tax dollars that pay for research to cure cancer or Alzheimers. Are you pro-cancer?

The ignorance of the PPs on here and Americans in general on how federal dollar support research that benefits everyone is depressing. Absolutely awful.

Has anyone with experience and credentials written an opinion piece for newspapers about the value of federal dollars for medical and scientific research at U.S. universities to explain how it works and benefits our society? The people who need to read it probably won’t but there’s a real lack of understanding because of all the disinformation.

Yes, there have been many articles, but like you said, the people who need to read it, won't.

Those same “credentialed” journos pretended they didn’t know Biden had dementia for four years. They have earned ZERO credibility.

T-100 aren't going to stay T-100 long if you take away foreign students. That overseas money is what keeps these schools afloat, especially for specialty programs. You think American kids will get those spots, and they may, but they'll have to pay more in tuition to make up for the loss, many programs and perks will be eliminated because of cost, and those T-100 schools will loose international prestige because the world will send their brightest elsewhere. And over time other countries will benefit as those foreign educated students settle in other countries and advance those economies.

Sure your American kid will maybe get to go to a T-100 but they will be diminished in diversity, funding, programming, etc. And if the current administration continues on this path, many top educators at these schools will leave to teach them elsewhere, thus causing further loss.

We need to rethink college, cost, admissions requirements, etc. But eliminating foreign students isn't going to really address any of this problems.

What is necessary about consulting? Finance at least is the backbone of investing for our public services, but consulting is factually a useless middle man that costs us billions for little reward.

What Trump is doing is to the detriment of America. Again.

They actually don’t, especially if they are from India and China. They are quiet little drones in class.
