If he actually wanted a celebration in DC for the military, he could have used the existing formulas for big national mall events and plugged military stuff into it. He just had to have his tanks though.

The Army is great. We all thank the Army for their service.

Please don't drive tanks in the streets, even for a parade. Also please don't have military units policing American cities. We have police departments that we all pay through the nose for and we would like to be policed with those.
