The point of a license is to make judgement calls, PP. That's the job. If you want a free-for-all to do what you want without a license, then there are countries which do that -- but the reason why we have licensed physicians is for them to use the license. |
I can't wait until the stable geniuses at the helm realize issues like obesity are a much bigger problem they realize and that solutions are going to be highly unpalatable.
RFK: why can't people just eat healthy fresh foods? Are they stupid!?? Country: uhhh Mr. Kennedy, you realize most of us are poor and didn't grow up with a silver spoon in our mouths like you, sir. Fresh foods are extraordinarily more expensive than packaged processed foods. RFK: ok, then we will make processed foods more expensive than healthier foods to change habits. It'll be funny when they find out to make junk foods more expensive than good healthy stuff, they will need to significantly cut subsidies to farmers who are making way too much corn and soybeans, which are used to make processes junk at reduced costs. Somehow I think all of those red state reps and senators will get mad when they start proposing cutting farm subsidies to make junk foods more expensive. |
Even funnier when RFK realizes his new department has no involvement in farm subsidies. |
Oh and keep in mind they’re deporting people who pick the food. Costs will climb. |
Except they actually aren’t that expensive. Ground beef is maybe $5 per pound on average. A dozen eggs are conservatively $4 a dozen. Butter is cheap. A pound of ground beef, 4 eggs, 4 tablespoons of butter gets you 1700 “calories” (which are a stupid measure of energy) per day at a daily cost of under $7.50 per day, which is $225 per person ina. 30-day month. |
He says when his uncle was President, 6% of Americans had chronic diseases. Now 60% of Americans have chronic diseases. Make America healthy again! |
How will raw milk and off-label testosterone injections for old men make America healthy? |
It is expensive . You don't know anyone poor. Numerous studies have been done on this. Junk food is overwhelmingly less expensive per calorie than healthy food. Yes, let's eat ground beef omelettes everyday. Oh by the way, you stupidly forgot to account for any kind of fiber, vitamin A, C, D and a whole bunch of other essential minerals. You'd still be unhealthy on a ground beef, buffer, and egg diet, lol. |
Their brains are too small to recognize the cognitive dissonance. I worked for a senator once upon a time, and every year like clockwork the Republican members of the delegation would come groveling because they needed help getting more H2-A visas for their districts. Then they’d go back to saying immigrants are the source of all evil. |
Experts are still people at the end of the day. They have biases, blindspots, and many are not nearly as intelligent as you might hope. Many are simply closed off to new information, hence the quote: "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it ..." Then you have to factor in institutional capture and self interest... Experts haven't exactly been covering themselves in glory of late. Why should we defer to them when its so easy to poke holes in their orthodoxy? |
And your qualifications are? |
