You mean like BG favored his own children? THIS is what caused the fall of the prep site. |

I question whether Bucknell plans to cut their swim program and Dan got wind of it. Comment section in the article briefly says “heading up” the GP site. Maybe a nothingburger… |
Well he can’t “head up” GP yet because BFG has not retired “yet” - so he’s sort of a “head coach in waiting” and I guess we’ll all see how long it will last. |
Phil has multiple offers, including most likely ASA. And may also start his own team, which would likely be a very strong draw from the GP families. There are plenty of other owner-operated teams in the area. |
There will always be a few relentless defensive Dorothys I guess. BG coaches both of his children and there certainly was favoritism. Phil may have coached one of his children recently. Based on the ages of her groups DHs has almost certainly coached her kids. Coaching your own kid is not inherently bad and it’s very common at this site. |
| This whole GP banter is the continued, calculated smear against BG. It will never end because only his children and KL became Olympians. It is a bunch of angry, passive aggressive, insecure, parents who didn’t get the results they wanted thinking that the promise land was an automatic outcome being a member of GP. Stop acting like children and be an adult and move on if you hate him, the club, and everything else associated with it. Please, the excuse of my DC will miss their friends is a cop-out, you PP will be to scared to miss out if they suddenly “take off” for a podium that they will only see from at TV and never be standing on, that only BG can get them. |
| Cut that out- no one who’s kid is in S2, B1 or B2 realistically signed up with NCAP at GP or any other site expecting that BG would still be around to coach their kids when they get to Gold. |
This is written so poorly I’m not even sure what it means but I think this person is defending Bruce, despite the following: - when he coached his child, he acted unethically by tailoring all practices to her, resulting in multiple injuries and close to ten kids leaving in a single season for other teams - promised Cliff the moon then drove him away - fired one of the most beloved coaches, Phil, who appears to be moving to ASA with his kids who are both amazing swimmers (sucks for you NCap!) But sure PP, defend away, you are one of those very typical delusional GP boosters hoping your child will one day become KL. Good luck! |
That’s a good spot. 2 fast senior NCAP girls transferred to them mid season, 1 from GP and 1 from AU. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more transfers. |
New team would be good, more options for swimmers |
That whole idea of BG being the only one who can get the kids to the Olympics as a selling point is not the issue here and is completely outdated to begin with because the math doesn’t work anymore. If your kid is in B2 now, they’re at most 9 years old. |
| Spencer in one fail swoop blew up a whole site. |
Maybe initially, but it’s not the issue now- now it’s the decisions of the main office. |
| At least Spenser was kind enough this time to send an email. When Cliff got tossed they said nothing. As a result G2 had no coach for a whole year and it shows to this day. |
You win the internet today!! And I don’t know for sure if you intended “fail” swoop or “fell” swoop, but “fail” is spot on. This is a disservice to everyone at GP. Neither Phil or Jeremy deserved this. I am almost certain that the main office consulted no one at GP, except for maybe BG, who assured them he was not retiring “yet” so they could dispel rumors about him that didn’t happen to exist. The families don’t want this issue. Everyone with a stake in this would most likely want it to be undone. |
