Will there be fewer applicants to Harvard, Penn, MIT next year?

A couple of weeks ago, enough faculty rallied to her, resenting pressure from donors and politicians to can her. More may be appalled now by her repeated plagiarism (not to mention her thin publication record) and Harvard's hypocrisy in excusing it. However, they may be afraid to stick their neck out because of the blowback if they criticise her. It seems that the Gay's symbolism matters more than her hollow substance.

Yep. She will sue for discrimination. It's a mess.

There could be hundreds if not thousands of people. Some graduates will already be professors at other universities. Some will be NASA scientists. Some stay at home Moms. Etc.

Then Harvard will say to the world "We cleaned house. Your turn." And they will remain the top school for another 300 years.

Yes! Put them ALL through the x-ray machine. We have some so called professors at my community college who I know won't come out with clean hands. Got to do them all. Otherwise it will look like they're being harder on her than everyone else.

President Gay’s compensation is near a million dollars a year and she now has 40ish allegations of plagiarism. If she was a student she would be expelled you would think. Yes?

Please have Dr. Gay litigate this matter to the Supreme Court!

Whole bunch of people out there with degrees they probably shouldn't have. What's the harm in snatching them all? Not being funny. Who actually cares? They have computers that can find all of the plagiarizers in a day or two.

No it won't have an effect on the number of people that apply, or not a significant one. The name prestige of these schools, and the employment outcomes from them, will mean this will have no affect on it.

Furthermore, not everyone will view what the Universities have don't in a negative light. Frankly many people have a view that saying something against Israel and it's actions is not automatically anti-semitic and frankly I agree. You can condemn a government without being anti-jewish, people just use the anti-semitic term to shut down discourse.

Will Harvard reverse all expulsions due to plagiarism allegations?
Double standard.

He didn’t plagiarize. He falsified results. Another paper was just found with major issues.

He oversaw the disciplinary department of a school that drove Katie Meyer to suicide yet he cheated right and left and maintains benefit, wealth, etc. It is sick.

Her doctoral dissertation itself should be invalidated and thus she will have to lose her doctoral degree.

So only non-blacks are capable of plagiarism and blacks will have 'duplicative language with inadequate sourcing'.
