It is not crime hysteria to say that quality of life is significantly down in Ward 4 since 4 years ago (when JLG took office) due to crime.
If our leaders have no bearing on any outcomes in the city, than what are they good for? |
We don't have to live like this. https://www.gorefordc.com/ |
Im in my cozy ward 4 home about to eat dinner that I cooked from ingredients I bought at the ward 4 Safeway after walking home from work at the ward metro stop. I kinda like living like this. I think if you actually reflected on your day to day, you might like the way you live too. Just a thought. Have a lovely evening. |
You know someone just shot up Upshur street with an automatic weapon, right? |
I do and I hope they find who did it and arrest/prosecute them. That is the job of the MPD. |
The police department is the smallest it's been in almost 50 years. You have to go back to the early 1970s when they had fewer officers than they do today. Of course, JLG's signature issue is defunding the police. |
It ends up being the same circular discussion. I'll point out that dc has never actually defunded the police and you'll come back showing the decline and the RCCA and we'll go back and forth but it's boring. You have one vote, I have one vote. Good luck in June |
The only reason JLG got elected in the first place was because her name was not Brandon Todd. No one knew anything about her or cared. Now, the same thing is going to happen to her and she will be replaced by Lisa Gore. People vote against things, not for things. |
The city council has repeatedly cut the police department's budget. Down pretty substantially over the past couple years. |
Just came from Frumins safety meeting in which Graves explained (tried to) the extremely low prosecution rates for all gun crimes. So even if the MPD find and arrest them, they won't necessarily be prosecuted . How many successful prosecutions did he proudly cite? Laughable. |
| Another Ward 4 driveby shooting today. Would be nice to have representation who could work with police instead of against them now that this is a twice a week occurrence. |
+1 |
That's terrifying. any reaction from your councilperson? |
Janeese Lewis George says we need to stop getting so hysterical about crime. You can see she really gets it. |
