Miranda and Erin are interchangeable. I don't like either of them at first glance. More of the same.

The child looks better and better. I don't care if he's not an APS parent. I care if he understands the system.

hahaha, love that you call him a child in one sentence and then imply that he understands "the system."
'

it wasn't my post but i think my children understand the system better than many adults

and would be better school board members too!

Get a grip.

Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!

Some school systems have a student rep on the board. APS doesn't. I think APS could use that perspective. Kids know a lot and have great opinions.

Do you understand the difference between an student rep and an actual board member? I'm not sure you do. I do believe that your kids understand the system better than you.

Since APS doesn't have a student member, maybe the 22 year old is the next best thing.

If he had gone through the APS school system himself, had siblings still in the system, was local, or had a preschooler ready to start here, any ties at all… then maybe. Since he’s an outsider intending to use this position for his own short term gain, with absolutely no stakes here, the answer is a resounding NO.

normally i would agree with you, but we have such bad choices this race. is there anyone else running?

We will find out tonight at the ACDC meeting. I think these are our three candidates though. Pathetic.

APE-light is right.

I meant that Erin's and Miranda's platforms are NOT so far off from each other. Are we sure they are not the same person?

He isn’t tainted by APE.

I don't think not having children in the system/not being part of the system is even a disqualifier anymore. See CD-T. We all know that she and this new one are using the SB to step up to bigger things. But the other two candidates don't seem to be on the up and up either. I hope there's another surprise candidate running. I don't even know who I would vote for at this point. They're all bad.

So the entire conversation over the next couple of months will be how much you like or hate Miranda/APE? There are at least two more candidates. I want to know more about them. One of them seems to have stolen Miranda's platform and the other is just unknown. I'm already feeling bad for our children.

I don't know, it might be. APE really did make itself a lot of enemies.

I'd like to know more about the other two candidates too. Does the kid have a website?

Which candidate is pro-ventilation? That's all I need to know.

Unfortunately, none. One is potentially anti-ventilation, according to this thread.

new topic. What happened to Maggie Slye? Her name was mentioned here about 20 pages of comments back.

Miranda's relentless learning loss platform seems pretty out of touch when kids are DYING.
