Seems so presumptuous.

North American press aren't sycophants and for the most part don't even care about celebrities (except for TMZ)

NYC and LA (most major US cities) are legendary for having large numbers of famous people who regular people just let go about their days.

The press will request interviews through the proper channels but I don't see CNN/the Chicago Tribune/New York Times writing hateful rhetoric day-in and out like the British Royal Rota did.

The British press however will have to find another focus in order to get all their money for clicks though. Good luck to the rest of the royal family back in the UK.

Do you really think the British press is incapable of stationing their people to shadow these two wherever they go?

It’ll be much more challenging for them to so. They will have to cycle people in and out.

The Daily Mail has an office in LA. Not challenging at all, pp.

LA is not Canada.

There's also the fact that the British press was incapable of getting a picture of Meghan coming or leaving the hospital post-pregnancy and the majority of them missed Harry's live announcement post-birth at Windsor Castle.

If they can't make a major news event on location 40 minutes from London, I highly doubt their ability to cover the Sussexes credibly in LA, Vancouver and globally.

Especially now that the Sussexes refuse to use the Royal Rota - which guaranteed the British press a FREE ride on the royal tour planes.

They're as lazy as can be.

They have their long-term sights on LA for a residence and business. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7879615/amp/Meghan-Markles-dream-Los-Angeles-Donald-Trumps-presidency-ends.html

They have not stated that. Just the tabloid rumors.

Wonder if they told HM the Queen. She was quite clear it would be Canada.

I didn’t post this link but I can’t believe no one has responded to it. She’s so attention-seeking it’s crazy. And has no idea of protocol. She’s clearly out of her league and has no business being anywhere but on some HBO After Dark movie.

Wait... So after your husband introduces you to a group of people, how should one react exactly?

She smiled and started talking to everyone. Isn’t that what normal people do?

If she had stood there mute you would have criticized her too.

He didn’t introduce her. She interrupted him to do it herself. Then closed him out of the conversation.

Anonymous wrote:The article headlines above looking down on Meghan are just plain mean. I never saw those before. I understand, she is a poor commoner, and not royalty. But still. It's wrong.

I can't imagine the racism she dealt with there, or the snobbery. She married for love, not status. You could tell the entire time leading up to the wedding that she was camera nervous.

She seems down to earth. Too down to earth to sit on the perch of the British Empire, I guess.

But who cares? Seriously? They are living their best liife. Good for them.

Is there some type of political or larger implication of this that I am missing that impacts anyone but the royal family?

Racism? Nobody sees a black woman when they see MM. She's trying to appropriate and weaponize blackness that she does not actually possess. She didn't grow up hard knocks, either; she was a privileged private school gal from K through age 22. Then she was a layabout actress for 15 years. Now she's a layabout royal interloper. Her woe is me minority shtick falls flat. This is one of THE most privileged persons on Earth.

WTF? Were you born under a rock? Most people do see her as a black woman.

+1. I'm the biracial PP. Most white Americans have trouble recognizing African ancestry--I think this is partly why some AAs were able to "pass" into white society throughout US history.

I've had white people burst out laughing when they find out I'm black/part black. Never had that happen with black people; they always recognize that I'm at least part black.

STOP IT. Both (all?) of you.

Stop what? Acknowledging the reality of what MM and other AAs may face in 2020? Are you trying to shush VALID experiences? Did you shush the similar shade POC that doesnt like MM and said she isn't black, or that she didnt have blackness?

Look, if you want to put your head in the sand and choke that is on you. What you aren't going to do is control who can and who cannot talk about their experience and contribution becuase it offends your fragile sensibilities. There are over 1M AA people in Mississipi alone that have been told to STOP talking about things that others dont care about.

You don't have the right to tell me to stop sharing my opinion and experience. Go back to sleeping on everything.

Maybe you should ask yourself why you're so bothered by it. You can agree/disagree/not GAF, and not feel the need to regulate convo.

So start your own thread. It’s hard to real relevant posts in between all of your gibberish. Your counterpart was annoying too be he/she appears to have stopped.

Relevant to WHOM? LOL! Just because you cannot follow, doesn't mean I am off topic. Take it up with Jeff. My post is relevant to the discussion. I already explained why. What isnt relevant is you telling me to stop talking about something you don't like. And you are really doing a lot, I posted TWICE and you tried to shut me down. Sorry! It doesn't work like that!

This entire thread is about speculation and talk of race, class, money, thoughts of why, blah blah blah. But you pick on me. GTFOHWTBS

poor you the victim. You sound like Meghan.

I'm not a victim. At all. But you are coming off as a bully. Take your own advice: Stop.

Shhh. The grownups are talking.

NP. Shut up Trumpster. You’ve already shown your hood.

Yes, they do. Any 'private' events like going out to friend's houses, parties, school runs, walks in the parks with kids etc are considered off-limits to the paparazzi.

Official engagements - press are welcome. Off-time they're not.

Which is why you almost never see Kate like this in a parka, with her hair tossed in a bun looking harried. But it happened twice today.

Pre-marriage she was pictured like that (in civilian clothes) frequently because non-royals don't get this same agreement.

It was shocking. I looked for the full video on YouTube but couldn’t find it. She first interrupted him, the literally closed the circle in front of him!

Wow! She really is a narcissist.

Not easy to interpret. It looks like they wanted to be done with the meet and greet. The timing was off. She might have needed to say specific words before they had to move on.

After she divorces poor Harry, Meghan can be introduced as “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” like Fergie.

I had not seen this, but I recall the engagement interview, she seemed to interrupt him and step in to answer questions not addressed to her.

Yes, the video doesn't look good but it's all awkward. I'd like to know that context for this.

This may be all Harry. Everyone blames the woman always but maybe he wants his own life.

Eh. He seemed happier before he met her.

Most men seem happier before they get married. Sigh. You haven’t said anything.

The way she looked at him.... I wonder if there was a cue for her to step in.

That’s what every MIL/FIL says about their son: “He was so much happier before he met that girl and now he spends all his time with her instead of his aging parents! He must be sooo unhappy!”

She is SUCH a narcissist! I'm so glad people are finally seeing it. Earlier, you would have been smacked for labeling her as such! Harry looks so lost.
