1.) SJC's (4-4) best wins are over Taft (4-3) & PVI (10-2).
2.) Landon's (11-2) best wins are over St. Mary's (3-9) & GP (7-3).
3.) Gonzaga's (7-4) best wins are over GP & Bullis (9-3).
4.) GP's 2 best wins are over St. Mary's & Loyola Blakefield (2-6).
5.) Bullis' best wins are Loyola Blakefield & Spalding (7-4).

Bottom line: Down year for DC area lacrosse. Gonzaga plays in biggest 2 remaining games (vs. Landon & vs. SJC).

PVI score was 10-8 not 10-2

DeMatha looked like a different team in the 2nd half against Landon.

I believe this was Mitchell’s first or second game as the Stags HC.

They will make things interesting to watch in the WCAC

Landon was lucky to get the W.

Lipka is named HC with Mitchell as OC, not to take away from them but really the toxic environment is gone so kids are happy to play=better play.

PVI score was 10-8 not 10-2

Those are overall team W-L records to date, not scores.

why did dematha fired the "new" head coach so quickly and bring in lipka and deadwood Mitchell...

DeMatha looks like a different team already since the departure of former HC Matt Miller.

Don't be shocked if the Stags make a run in the WCAC playoffs.

Landon beat Bullis FYI

GZ better pay attention to its entire schedule. Outside of BI, some potential close contests in there.

You can call it a down year but I’m also seeing a ton of parity up north in the MIAA.

Spalding beat McDonogh yesterday, what does that tell you about McDonogh?? Over hyped? I doubt it, I’m speculating they overlooked Spalding and would cruise for a W. FYI, Bullis beat Spalding a few weeks ago with ease.

As for the DMV, Gonzaga and Landon are cruising right now and will collide in a major non-league matchup a week from today down at Eye Street.

Anyone have a recap of the SJC - GC game. I saw the final score posted… was it competitive at all?

Bottom line: lots of good individual talent and good coaching at a lot of these schools, if you don’t show as a team and are ready to play, be prepared for a dogfight

Agree, Gonzaga has a tough schedule remaining (outside of the BI game)

They never pulled starters demathas grit and determination to make a comeback was very apparent in the second half. Offense clicking. Defense stopping. Goalie saving. All around team effort. Dematha is continually building and it is clear they are getting better. Dematha is your 2024 WCAC LACROSSE CHAMPION. THEY WILL PREVAIL

Agree.

Brutal stretch of games for my Purple Eagles to conclude the regular season.

DeMatha
GC
Landon
BI
PVI
SJC
*WCAC Playoffs*

They have the depth and athleticism to prevail but man that is a tough slate of games.

Must have been really bad if the faithful are so happy to have Mitchell back

Come on

The Landon coach definitely pulled a few starters (including #22 at attack and #3 at starting defense) coming back to start the third. Not sure why the Landon coach keeps making the same mistakes. He did the same thing against the Heights and it almost backfired. He also ran three lines of middies against Dematha from the get go, of which 4 of Demathas goals were scored while the third line was on for Landon. Coach needs to get it together if he wants to be successful on the national level and not blow games.
