I'm looking for a particular light fixture and they have it for like $100 less than Amazon. That said, I've never even heard of them (until searching for this light fixture).
I usually use Amazon for online shopping because they have good customer service...anyone use Wayfair and care to let me know if you thought they had good service? The thing I'm the most concerned about is if there's any issue with it working or if it's broken -- Amazon lets you ship things back at no charge if they are defective, Wayfair seems to have this weird "we'll ship you replacement parts" policy. I'd rather not mess around with parts if something is broken in transit. |
| I did once (a ceiling fan). I had the same concerns about buying from a company I'd never heard of, but it went fine. It arrived on time, no damage or missing parts. No problems. |
| It's fine. I order from them a lot. |
| I got 4 folding (dining room) chairs from them, They were great and arrived prompty. I had also not heard of them. |
|
I order from them frequently and have been very pleased. Everything has been in great condition, packaged very well. I have ordered all sorts of furniture from them and recommend them highly. I prefer them to other online shopping sites because I find their website easier to navigate and I like their search functions.

Did not intend to order from them - did so inadvertently from Walmart website (just recalling makes me irritated all over again). Found out the hard way they have a HORRIBLE return policy - would have cost like 20%+ of the product price to ship it back (counting the "restocking" penalty or some such thing).
would not recommend unless you are positive what you get will be what you want. |
| Wayfair has the best replacement policy around- They just send you a new one, no questions asked. I ordered a dining room set, which I loved, and one of the chairs arrived and was a wobbly. They sent me a new chair, and I didn’t even need to send the bad one back. They told me to donate it! |
| i ordered a coffee table and they shipped a side table instead. Called and they resent the coffee table and never picked up with side table, so I guess that was my compensation for the inconvenience of having to wait 8 more weeks. |
| I have had excellent experiences with wayfair. One time a table arrived damaged and they refunded the money and let me keep the table (and offered to send a replacement but I didn't want it). I read an article once about the company's founders and was impressed. |
| I ordered a ton of baby gear from them back when they were called CSN Stores. The prices were great, they delivered for free (even for the crib and changing table), and service was great. |
| I had great customer service from them when I ordered a bike for my son. It was the same price everywhere on the internet except Wayfair, where it was $30 cheaper in the search results. But when you clicked on the item (to get more details/order it), the price went up $30. I called their customer service # and got a very friendly rep who gave it to me for the lower price without any hassle. |
| I ordered a real expensive car seat that they had for about 50 less than all others. Had not heard of them but like others, got a great seat in about 2 days, no troubles at all. |
| I had really good experiences with them as well. |
Was it lighting? Lighting almost always has a 20-25% restocking fee? |
|
OP here -- I am ordering lighting and would be interested to know if there's a restocking fee if something is off with the light. What I like about Amazon is that they allow returns OR will exchange for a new product, no questions asked, if there is a problem. Reading Wayfair's returns/exchanges page made it sound like they would ship me a replacement part that I'd have to integrate myself OR I'd have to pay for "white glove" delivery to get better returns if the product is broken.
I just hate to drop several hundred dollars in order to see if their products and customer service are good. It sounds like most PPs had good experiences, though. |
