Search it up.

I’m going to go with forceable segregated quarantines and threats of violence? Did I get it right?

SoKor never had to do any of that to contain the spread. Be smarter.

We should have been like South Korea. We waited too long.

Yes, we did not take the be-smarter path. We took the ignore-experts-and-pandemic-plans path.

Right we are doing nothing here

Honestly, what do you suggest?

Stay at home. For real. Buy food for a while and stay home. Close car dealerships, close all restaurants, place military on streets. No work, no post office, no seeing your friends for the young crowd. Only open absolutely necessary grocery stores and pharmacies and utilities works. Why the heck are there packed parking lots at Costco at 2pm??? Most people bought enough by now. Other countries have their family member that goes out for groceries strip down upon entering home and shower right away. Here people are going out for hot sauce and when kids want chic fila. What a joke.

This is so unamerican. If you can’t live with some risk then you should move to a place with the totalitarian government you desire

So being American means having chic fila when you feel like it, regardless of it possibly killing someone? Your own, or if you are asymptomatic someone from the restaurant? Being American means don't protect yourself and others? Risk lives of women giving birth at this time? Killing cancer patients who can't get treatment as hospitals are overrun and ac spreads the virus through the ducts? Risking your mom dying alone for 20 days without you seeing her at all?

You’re proposing to put the army on the streets and shut the down country. Chick fil a has nothing to do with this

Yes, that is what it will take

+1

I thought we could do this voluntarily. You know, based on common sense and a regard for the common good. Nope, we’re like toddlers who have to be penned up so we don’t stick forks into outlets.

If you want to totally shut down the country (even in places that don’t need to be shut down) and have the army beat people and drag them back into their homes, you’d be more comfortable in China. I am American and I will not live like that.

The best strategy is clearly to use the WHO tests and not develop our own. Test as many people as possible. Contact trace every positive case. Quarantine every positive case. This is what South Korea did but they had competent leadership. We had, don’t test don’t tell for two months.

It took too long but we are now really testing a lot, especially in NY. This can be seen from our huge increases in numbers.

Sounds so simple when you are just sitting at your computer eating Cheetos, typing it out on dcum!

Except we had no tests, and still don't have them to be able to do that. We are way past that point.

NOW we are doing a ton!

In late Jan/early Feb we did not take enough action due to lack of testing capability.

Right we are doing nothing here

So it begins. All elective surgeries are getting cancelled, as far as I know.

Imagine how many cancer and other patients grave conditions will suffer from this and die early.

Our healthcare system is already collapsing.

I don't think removal of a cancerous tumor is "elective." Knee replacements, hysterectomies, foot surgeries, plastic surgery probably count as "elective." A breast lump or brain tumor is not going to be called "elective."

All elective and non-critical surgeries are cancelled. That's not the same thing.

But yes, this is all very terrible, directly and indirectly.
