How can I do it? Can somebody recommend a good DVD, mainly for belly and thighs? I really like Pilates but the DVDs I have spend too long explaining technique and not so much doing exercises, which is not very effective.
Any ideas welcome. |

Blogilates is an awesome work out. google it.
but as always, diet and exercise is the key to lose belly fat not exercise alone. |

You need a three-pronged approach to burn belly fat, I think.
1 - Diet should be pretty good - keep an eye on your calories. 2 - Cardio is a must for burning fat - the more intense, the better. I'm a runner and my abs are awesome. 3 - Targeted ab work every other day. I do crunches and leg lifts of various types, plus plank variations. For truly great abs, you need to work abs in several different ways, including the obliques on the sides. |
From my experience, I would add this -- avoid processed carbs and avoid excess carb intake. |
| Also avoid alcohol. |
| 14:13 here - good point, 14:28. I tend to tell people that if you do a lot of cardio, you can eat more carbs. If you don't do much cardio, you really don't need a lot of carbs. I run about 100 miles a month plus walking about 40-50 miles a month, plus about 15 30-minute arc trainer workouts a month, so I can eat more carbs and get away with it. (I increase my protein intake on the weight lifting days.) If you cut out carbs and then try to run more than a few miles, you are going to "bonk" hard. Also, I try to get the bulk of my carb intake from whole grains. |
