US Capitol Breached by Trump's lunatics

The law gives no authority to Milley to call anyone. Perhaps resign from the Joint Chiefs and go public with his problem but what he did creates a massively bad precedent. You don’t talk to opposition political leaders and cite those conversations with a foreign nation. This is nuts. Trump hate aside, this is NOT how things should be done.

You're ridiculous. You don't think that as part of his duties, the Joint Chief doesn't talk to military leaders around the world. And Pelosi isn't an opposition leader, she is the Speaker of the House - you know one of the leaders of the branch of government from which a declaration of war originates.

No, none of what you said make sense or is applicable in this situation. This is not a declaration of war (and that involves all of the Congress not just Pelosi anyway). There is a significant nukes use process that involves a number of people allowing consideration before anything happens. Milley didn’t follow it. He went outside of his role, the process, the law and the Constitution. And, none of it seemed warranted in the first place. THAT is the problem.

Do you think military leaders get on the horn in contravention of the President’s orders or pursue policies or discuss issues outside of his knowledge or direction? That makes sense to you?

What Milley did isn't unprecedented

Well, we don't exactly have an internal playbook for dealing with a despotic president, now do we?

So for those saying this was bad and unprecedented, yes you are right, but not the way you are thinking.

Oh, it definitely seemed warranted. El Presidente had just fomented a coup attempt and was acting unstable.

You’re only saying it’s treason because Trump’s cult says it is. It’s not.

Pentagon officials have stated that Milley never usurped unconstotitional powers but rather reviewed standard protocols .

No, he didn’t. Milley would need to be involved in military decisions as Joint Chief. Reviewing procedures is exactly what he should have done.

Wait. Republicans now believe Bob Woodward is a truthful and accurate reporter? The world is truly upside down. If you believe this story you are acknowledging that all Woodward has said about Trump is true. Oh boy.

I am sure Miley’s actions are well within the Constitution frame work. I just do not want any republicans or conservatives to ever have access to the military or governmental power again.

Well, given Trump didn't tell over 14,000 documented lies during his tenure...
