👏🏻 The 👏🏻 cruelty 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 point

Can you imagine hating your own sex so much that you think a 9 year old child, legally incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse, should be sentenced to a chance of death via pregnancy and birth?

Can you imagine being in Texas and saying literally anyone “could give birth without health risks” given their maternal mortality rates?!?

+1 Maternal mortality rates have also been on the rise in Texas over the past two decades, increasing from 10.3 deaths per 100,000 live births in 1999 to 21.9 in 2019.

Also in Texas, infant deaths rose by 227 in 2022 under the abortion ban compared to 2021, in part because of unviable pregnancies forced to be carried to term.

From testimony in the Texas lawsuit yesterday:

Absolutely horrific. It is undeniable that the forced-birthers are causing significant death and suffering. "Pro-life" is a lie.

It always has been. Texas has been forced birth for a while but as a PP noted with stats, their mortality numbers are crap. What have they, allegedly a “pro life” state, done to fix that? Nothing.

And Abbott promised he was going to wave a magic wand and end rape. I haven’t heard him say or do anything.

Quick reminder that they also say they’ll never go after birth control, just so all the No Labels/Forward/moderate/independents can understand where the their GOP votes want to take us.

Texas isn’t even bothering to investigate thousands of rapes that have already occurred.

Why would they? They don’t think women are people.

What about married women who never want kids? Since birth control isn't 100% effective, they should abstain from sex their entire marriage? It's not easy to find a doctor willing to tie your tubes in your 20s. I finally got a doctor to agree when I was 38.

I also don't understand the logic of punishing "irresponsible" girls with a baby. How is that good for a baby??

Your ignorant argument also doesn't address the women with wanted pregnancies whose babies are incompatible with life. This thread is full of real life examples of the devastating consequences of abortion bans. If you're in favor of this, you're a heartless person.

she isn’t being jailed for an abortion of her viable child she is being jailed for burning and burying the body

Which she wouldn’t have done if she lived somewhere where abortion is legal.

…you mean what a hospital or doctors office who would have provided competent medical assistance would
Have been responsible for in a civilized state?

Oops! You said the quiet part out loud.

"Babies are the punishment for sex."

You care about innocent lives so much you would condemn a child to raise a child, because ... consequences.

You people are sick.

Remind me again how forced birthers are just concerned about the welfare of children?

Pence said in a CNN interview the other day that he supports a full abortion ban for nonviable pregnancies because it is the doctor's "subjective opinion" and there is still a chance the baby will live. So let's force a woman to go through the pain and trauma and potential physical complications of full childbirth because the doctor was just making things up?

Don't ever believe the Rolling Stone magazine.

They try what they think they can absolutely 100% get a conviction on. If you think they wouldn’t have tried her on an abortion charge, they would have if they could have.

The cruelty is the point.

Full abortion ban, “for no viable pregnancies.” You’re less important than something that will never live, ladies! Be the incubator.

He’a such a d!ck.

Meanwhile making women go through the last 3-4 months of a non-viable pregnancy potentially means they’ll never get pregnant again, especially for women toward the end of their fertile years where every month of ttc counts.
