War with Iran

No. Not even close.

Give it a chance. Once the Chinese and other actors stop laughing at the US and collect themselves they might decide that Trump has made the US weak enough to make moves.

Well good he used capital letters because then how would we know if it’s serious otherwise?

What an effing embarrassment.

Hey, GOP, you could end this today...you know that, right?

Oil at $88 this morning. Diesel shortages for Europe, Australia and Asia as gulf refineries remain closed. World biggest LNG plant closed in the gulf. US refineries will ship diesel, gasoline and LNG to Europe causing diesel, gasoline and NG prices in the US to rise at a faster rate vs the oil prices. 42% of our electricity is generated by NG. Diesel is used for 75% of shipping.

I don’t think the republican understands what they have done. No Trump and republicans have no money to rebuild but they will still line his pockets.

This is the GOP war and they will never stop it.

What Allies is he talking about…Israel? Israel wants a failed state with a 20-30 year civil war for Iran.

They will want the same for us once they don’t need our welfare checks anymore.

Rumors are way more than six Americans are dead. Media blackout on reporting deaths

I’d guess that it’s way more.

Trump doesn’t want to be as unpopular as Bush 2 was (in large part to the unnecessary war that killed so many service members).

He will likely rely on planes and drones and simply continue to pummel Iran.

The regime is very unlikely to fall based on air power alone. Trump will either need to give up on regime change or figure out how to have ground forces there.

You are likely correct that Trump realizes US troops there will be very unpopular. That’s why it looks like he’s turning to the Kurds.

Right.

They’re already using the Kurds.

There’s no need to put our military on the ground in Iran. Plus, it’s not possible at the moment.

And I’ll just say it: Israel bombed the hell out of Gaza…and it worked. Apparently that’s what it took to really deal with the problem. Surely Bibi knows what it will take to deal with the threat Iran presents to Israel, and he’s clearly not afraid to go big.

Gaza is an open air prison with a few million people controlled by Israel.

Iran is a country with a functioning military and 90+ million people.

Seems like two wildly different scenarios.

And let’s not forget that despite Gaza being a far easier problem, and the fact that Israel did put limited ground troops there, Hamas is still there!

Because nobody’s changing a regime during a war. It’s a known fact that presidential popularity boosts after a terror attack. See: Benjamin Netanyahu, Hamas, Bush for reference. All three have one thing in common: mass demonstrations and protests against their rule months prior to attack. After the attack, the mass demonstrations against the leaders all stopped

Trump is not above allowing a terror attack to happen intentionally in order to boost his popularity and national pride.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why they want a new DHS secretary because they want someone who will sweep threats under the rug. Anything to boost cause for this war

I would love for Trump to explain exactly what "unconditional surrender" means.

I would say, not just allowing, but facilitating. I mean, he fomented an insurrection at the US Capitol on Jan 6, 2021 to try to stay in office, afterall.

Last night or the day before he said Americans will die in this war when asks about Iran retaliating against American civilians. It the price of doing business because he and his family are protected.
