no other club on here comes even close to this much disgust. its pretty amazing actually.

It’s actually just the same parents on here making the moist noise and trying to start drama because they have nothing better to do. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet

200 pages of complaints is just a few parents?

I wouldn’t doubt it at all. It only takes a couple of unhinged people posting prolifically to really set the tone of a thread. You see it in the politics forum a lot. You can tell by writing style. I also think someone popping up very so often and saying “wow so many complaints must be really bad there” is the same poster. There are some crazy parents in this little neck of the woods. There is money but not a ton of athletic talent. Parents who weren’t high level athletes can’t seem to grasp that money doesn’t buy talent. You either got it or you don’t. If you keep signing your unathletic child up for Valor that’s on you. An athletic kid can make improvements even with crappy coaching just from repetition. If your kid hasn’t improved for several years on a lower Valor team it’s time to rethink travel soccer. Sorry the truth hurts.

Yeah not everyone is chronically online like some of you wack jobs. I live in the area. Things said on here are said out loud in the community not just at games/practices/anonymous message boards. Keep coping harder. I know a few Valor parents posting on here in defense of the club that are just as quick to talk crap about valor in private. My assumption is the only reason they're there is that they couldn't get on better teams elsewhere while masking it as their player just really loves the community and kids they play with will while never mentioning the actual club being good.

Um, you might want to look in the mirror because you are clearly a wack job. The club is no different than any other club in the area, top team gets preferential treatment. Bottom teams are formed for those that want to play travel, but need improvements to move up. Parents are typical FFX parents in that some are chill, some think their kids are awesome, and some are just odd. I've had kids play for a few teams in the area and I can tell you they are all the same, but different. Meaning you will like things about Valor and hate others, just like at any other club. This means it's a great fit for some and not for others. This is about as honest of opinion you will get, if winning is your primary goal then go tryout for Arlington, Bethesda, etc.

No need to be so defensive. But you have to be because you know I'm right. People in general have bad things to say about Valor in the local community. I'm giving actual feedback on real people who've played there or are playing there currently and what they say/think about the club. Sorry you don't like it but that doesn't make it fake news. It's a good fit for you, cool. Hopefully your player has good coaching, players, and families. Many do not share that experience even on top teams.

Ah the "no need to be defensive poster strikes again" either obsessed with valor and left long ago or still here for whatever reason. I would love to know your motive to continue to post here. Who do your kids play for at valor?

You need to calm down. Offering actual feedback shared from the local community is hardly obsessing. I'm just sharing about my firsthand experience telling with neighbors and friends about this club that only a couple families like.

This is a pretty normal response. Valor does a good job marketing to their core families.

The marketing must be deceptive given all the people unhappy with the product they bought

"Lead Coach" for next year SA?
Anonymous
Anyone know this coach? Uche Nzenwa? He coached the fourth 2013 boys team thisfall and then left mid season. Before that it looks like he coached a year for GFR.
Anonymous
Leaving mid year is a red flag.

Especially since it was a team that lost badly all fall.

Seems to be a long list of revolving coach, next!!!

i assume you are a HYS parent? Well let us think logically about it based on what we know about how Valor runs.

Their admin put their bottom teams together with no real thought to the team composition and then go out in the summer--well after all the decent or even mediocre coaches are hired--and scrounge someone up to coach them who couldn't get a job anywhere else. (GFR didn't want him back?)

This team is a rec level team (team #4 for Valor is always rec level). Then it looks like the coach or Valor (likely Valor since the dude was hired so late) put this team in the wrong division by at least two levels in the fall (losing 1-7. 6-2, 1-9 etc). That's not a coaching issue at this age, no one can coach so badly that an evenly matched team would lose by 8 goals.

https://elements.demosphere.com/80738/teams/113390582/113583511-113390680/TEAM.html

Valor hires coaches for the full year and coaches can basically not show up or just let their teams scrimmage every practice and still get kept around until the end of the season b/c its hard to find someone to cover the team mid-year.

Either they fired this guy (which means you don't want him coaching your kid), or he quit halfway through his commitment b/c coaching this losing, untalented team was not his bag (which means you don't want him coaching your kid), or he had some kind of life emergency where suddenly he couldn't coach this spring but could somehow commit to coaching three teams at Herndon this coming fall (seems incredibly unlikely) .

Also it looks like he has a coachup profile and the only review on there is from another coach! LOL.

Avoid.

+1 to pp's analysis, agree with every word

it honestly looks like they put together a grab bag team without any kid capable of playing GK

Any feedback on Sofian Allouat as a coach?

2014G has so many references on this thread...they list Israel Alabi returning as the lead coach assuming 1st team. Are Jake Lind (2nd team) and Chris Rivera (3rd team) coming back? Seems like a waste of time trying out if my kid is not going to make the 1st team.
