Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 5

You attack the ABA when they decide against you and praise the rating when it's in your favor:

"The American Bar Association is not neutral. The ABA is a liberal organization that has publicly and consistently advocated for left-of-center positions for more than two decades now. The ABA has no right to special treatment by members of this body."

Ben Sasse (Repub) NB

You have no moral high ground on this issue. Neither does your falling down drunk liar SJC. But go ahead and try to weasel out of it--it's what you're good at.

Evidence that Kavanaugh is a falling down drunk, please.

It's amusing that, while lying, you're critiquing someone else's moral high ground.

Kav should downgraded from a "supreme court justice" to maybe a "Chalupa Los Locos" or "Ralphed Burrito Bowl", at best.

~wiping tears of laughter from my eyes~

The IRS went after Capone for tax evasion, but they otherwise thought he was a great guy.

Please. The ABA was caught sleeping on this and realized they had rubber stamped him. They had to walk it back and most pointedly, they have NOT re-endorsed him.

The ABA did NOT walk it back. The president of the ABA wrote a personal letter to Charles Grassley. She has not authority to change the decision by the ABA Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary. The ABA Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary gave its highest rating of well-qualified to Kavanaugh. That rating by the ABA standing committee has never changed.

She is a he. Bob Carlson is president of the ABA. And, yes, he overstepped his authority by sending out his letter on ABA letterhead and using the term "we" to imply he was speaking for the ABA and not himself.

The Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary the next day diplomatically pointed out they had not reviewed his letter before it went out and said it upheld Kavanaugh's well qualified rating.

Thanks for the correction.

I googled "president of ABA". The first link says "ABA President Hilarie Bass addresses the House of Delegates at the ABA Annual Meeting." I don't understand how google can't answer such a simple question.

Google is having lots of problems these days.

This kind of comment is why people defend Kavanaugh. "Falling down drunk?" Do you seriously think he could have performed on the job as successfully as he has for the past 25 years if your description were true? Such an absurd exaggeration.

Having mindless speculation for the past two years about impeaching Trump or removing him through the 25th Amendment, nutty liberals can now focus on impeaching Kavanaugh for the next two years.

They will have as much success as they did with impeaching Trump.

^^Should be "Having indulged in mindless speculation"

K Street and the federal bench has more than few falling down drunks. No way will I name them here, but they manage to function, shielded by their judicial secretaries and clerks--clerks especially, as they are beholden to them for a lifetime of references-which is the absolute payoff for working like slave for their judge. Not one of these folks with severe drinking problems should be on the Supreme Court.

And if you don't think that white knuckled, water sloshing, petulant, screaming maniac has a drinking problem, you haven't been around drunks the way I have. My father was exactly that.

Someone here has a drinking problem, but it’s not Kavanaugh.

In other news......Kavanaugh spent Wednesday feeding the homeless, something he does on a regular basis.

Stop hating. He’s volunteering. That’s something Democrats should do more often.
