Chicken Out Rotisserie for Thanksgiving?

They have a turkey breast and holiday sides catering special. Has anyone tried this before? Is the food any good? Would you serve for guests?

NO WAY! This is fast food.

No. I would be ashamed.

I'm on bedrest, and our families can't join us for the holidays. So, you bet I'd serve this. My husband doesn't cook and I want my kids to have something resembling a holiday dinner. Thanks for the idea.

If you want more options, grocery stores sell complete dinners too - from decently priced ones at Safeway or Giant to a pretty upscale and pricy alternative at Balduccis or Whole Foods. My family used to go o NYC for Thankgsiving and would often buy a small dinner to have leftovers (we ate out on the actual day.)

I've gotten my turkey, the gravy and some sides from Whole Foods. I agree with the PPs -- sort of -- ashamed is a little strong but it is a holidays and I think it's OK to splurge a little on something better than Chicken Out. The Chicken Out near me is often disappointing in terms of quality.

I've had the Whole Foods Thanksgiving dinner before. It's not bad.

This is one of those times when I'm glad this is an anonymous board

Yes, I've done Chicken Out for Thanksgiving Dinner and it's really not as bad as the previous posters are making it out to be. I also had a largish family gathering last weekend and guess what I served for dinner? Catered Chicken Out.

The food is good (probably equal to or better than a Safeway caliber Thanksgiving catered meal) and I have served it to guests. No one minds. And it's very reasonably priced!

Now - if you tend to have fancier Thanksgiving dinners maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you're Thanksgivings are a bit more casual, then it's a perfectly acceptable alternative.

OP here. Thanks for all the responses. We are pretty casual and as long as the food tastes good, I would not be ashamed to serve it just because it is from Chicken Out. I will consider Whole Foods too though. Just want to get some tasty food. Last year I had a catered dinner from La Madeleine's and I wasn't impressed.

Do they have turkey now - maybe you can try before you buy. Honeybaked hams might also have turkey dinners. We tried Whole Foods and it wasn't worth the extra $$$$.

I would totally serve it. I haven't had their turkey but Chicken Out sides particularly the sweet potatoes and apple cornbread stuffing are great! Costco also has great pumpkin pie for dessert.

Beware of Honeybaked Hams side dishes. A friend told me she got several for Thanksgiving one year and when she went to heat and serve them she found they were rotten. As her family was at a remote cabin in the woods, they were pretty unhappy.

that's too bad, pp, because i LOVE their sweet potato souffle.

Just wanted to say that this post is making me hungry for my FAVORITE meal of the year - Thanksgiving turkey.

I served it a Honey Baked turkey breast at a neighborhood event and my neighbor couldn't stop talking about how she loved it so much she was going to serve it at Thanksgiving.
