Yeah, I've known that she was Hilary from America for a few years, and always found it to be amusing gossip. Because gender selection is prohibited for non-medical reasons pretty much all over the civilized words. Actually in 31 countries, including her beloved Spain, it is illegal.

It's really not, in practice. If you do pre-IVF genetic screening of embryos they tell you the quality of the embryos and also the sex. If you have two high quality embryos of each sex, you can choose which you want to implant. Doctors are particularly inclined to do this in cases of "family balancing" like Hilaria's where she has a lot of boys. If you don't pick, the Doctor will pick for you, but someone is making that call.

Is it unethical. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine discourages it for elective reasons. But what would you expect from a woman who is already 1/4 plastic in her 30s?

You need to keep up. Practically every fertility clinic allows you to select the gender you want to transfer when you do IVF.
