Hilaria Baldwin - At it again

Here is Alec on Conan, at 3:30: "She did in vitro for a girl, and she was very upfront about that."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B8_l2nFBqI&t=209s

(Alec in his dotage is confused, she was not upfront about the in vitro, she was only upfront about the miscarriage.

Here Hilaria is on Instagram 9/25/19, telling her daughter that she is pregnant. (This is the in vitro pregnancy that Alec was talking about that she later lost.) The daughter asks, "Is it a girl?" Hilaria responds, "We don't know yet."

Did she lie? And if yes, why would she?

How the hell are you concerned with someone else's reproductive choices? What does this woman owe you?

Because gender selection is prohibited for non-medical reasons pretty much all over the civilized words. Actually in 31 countries, including her beloved Spain, it is illegal.

Never heard of her before. She seems totally ridiculous. But the glee at tearing her down is also a bit scary.

You can tell she is not from Spain but, by just listening to her, (without knowing this crazy shit), you'd think she is an American woman who's spent a long time in Spain. And, yeah, no, we are not Hispanic. It is actually funny how people are talking about things like race and latino culture when they refer to Spanish people. You guys know we are European, right?

I didn't say anything, just played a clip of Hillary speaking Spanish in an interview and asked if this is a Spanish or Balearic dialect. She said absolutely not. She said she couldn't tell where she was from but said Mexico if she had to guess.

A woman from Madrid is not Hispanic. Other than that, good post.

Er yes, you are. Hispanic doesn't just cover Latin America. It covers any Spanish speaking nation. Including, Spain.

I just don't get this Hispanic race, the defining feature is the language you speak then? Because spaniards are white european caucasians and their ethnicity is way more similar to french or italians than to native south americans.

Hispanic is an ethnicity not a race. Keep up.

Doesn’t ethnicity also have a genetic component? How can a black Brazilian and a native Mexican and a white Spaniard be the same ethnicity?

No. Literal Nazis moved to South American countries, had babies, and their babies are Hispanic. I don't create these definitions.

Since people seem to think her behavior is victimless.

I am a nanny. I am also an immigrant. We are the invisible people behind the Instagram posts of baking cookies, homemade baby food, sleeping babies, and organized pantries. We are the invisible people who allow people like this to live their best life. We are the ones with accents, different cultures, hardship, and have to worry about where we get our next paycheck. To take the experience of an actual immigrant and to wear it like cloak when it’s convenient is disgusting. It’s not okay. You say this doesn’t hurt anyone, but I’m here to tell you it does. My nanny friends and I don’t get to wear a new identity to change our status in life. Slap on a new name to be exotic... or get a job. To say no one is hurt, diminishes our experience. Working as a nanny is hard work and when women like that erase us and then claim our identities (accents, language, culture) as their own? No. Not okay. I don’t get to change who I am when it’s convenient.

THIS! Times a million. It's just not okay.

Because it is a grouping of those with ancestry linking back to Spain.

Brazilians aren't considered Hispanic, regardless of race. Colombians, Mexicans, and Spaniards are, regardless of race.

Thank you for sharing this. I’m a white woman and couldn’t quite articulate why her behavior is so disturbing and not just a silly little “game” (although my gut reaction to her behavior is definitely that it feels yucky). Your words really personify exactly what is wrong with what she has done. She is taking on an identity for the fun “exotic” aspect of it, essentially fetishizing immigrants, without having to personally experience any of the hardships they have endured.

Also, trust me, anyone with a brain who sees her Instagram posts knows there is a small army of nannies worth their weight in gold doing the actual hard work of child rearing.

I get what PP is saying and I'm not diminishing it at all. I do want to make a point though that being an immigrant with an accent doesn't make you someone who has experienced hardships. I know many immigrants who come from privelage and trust me they aren't suffering even with their accents.

It's really not, in practice. If you do pre-IVF genetic screening of embryos they tell you the quality of the embryos and also the sex. If you have two high quality embryos of each sex, you can choose which you want to implant. Doctors are particularly inclined to do this in cases of "family balancing" like Hilaria's where she has a lot of boys. If you don't pick, the Doctor will pick for you, but someone is making that call.

Yeah, I've known that she was Hilary from America for a few years, and always found it to be amusing gossip. But the fact that this is being covered like it's a major transgression and she's being "exposed" in major outlets does seem in line with the "acceptable misogyny" of the current times. You can tear a woman to shreds and publicly humiliate her, as long as her (inconsequential) "crimes" are deemed unacceptable.

HI Everyone!
First time poster, long time reader. This thread is amazing and entertaining while I have insomnia. I have always seen what a fake she is and I love that she's now being exposed. Over on the Reddit, Blogsnark sub, there's a whole conversation going on about this, and one person knows this Eduardo everyone speaks of ( the ex she named her latest kid after) The link is below if you're interested. I looked him up, found his IG and he is gorgeous!! He and Hilaria follow each other on there and she "likes" ALL his photos.
Just thought this was another fun layer to this already insane story.

You must be new. We tear men apart too. Alec is also guilty here as has been noted.

Right, she is impersonating a white hispanic latina Spaniard.
