Exactly. Cheap ass responses.

| Let me guess. You don’t tip 20% when you get take out food during COVID because they did not really give you service right? :roll |
At least he got food at that place. He didn’t go to a random restaurant, plop down $200 and get nothing. Damn, if I’m going to make a donation, let me at least choose the restaurant. I went to the crappy local joint and they took my money, told me they had no of their mediocre food, then didn’t even have the integrity to refund my cash. Why would I voluntarily donate to that place, let alone come back ever again? |
Funny that you think the parents are cheap when Loudoun Soccer kept the money. Please provide one justification for them to keep the money when they did not deliver a service. |
To support the coaches who work hard and are underpaid. But the tip your waiter when you get take out made that point clear, so I thought. |
Our rec coach is a volunteer. Try again. |
Where above did I defend them? God, you folks are simple. Reread what I wrote. The post is about proportionality. They both ripped us off, but the county ripped us off more. Hence spend your time bitching about our county not some rinky dink soccer club. That’s the point. Got it? Christ, I hope you don’t vote. |
Instead of $80, if you paid $5-10k in taxes to the county but they let teachers slack off for the last two months of school and closed all the parks and libraries and cut back police patrols, would you want your money back? No? Who’s the chump now? |
The county didn't rip me off. Teachers taught via zoom, just like travel coaches. In both instances, the standard of service was lower, but I understand that my $ was going to pay the salary that was directly providing services. For Loudoun Soccer's Rec program, there was no service provided. None. Nada. |
Just consider it a donation to the hard working travel coaches who well deserve it and move on with life. And keep donating to your church even through you can’t go. |
This was rec money. So not only do you not get a service but you are expected to consider it a “donation” to travel coaches who should be paid through their own team? And what about taxes? Loudoun Soccer would have to provide a receipt claiming the $82 was a donation, admitting there was no service provided. Stop telling people to suck it up and calling them cheap when LS is to cheap to give the money back. I’ll ask one more time, what rationale does LS have for keeping the money? |
I always wondered what happened to that newspaper boy from Better Off Dead. |
You do realize that kid either collected the money or paid for it himself right? Yes it is a funny bit in the movie but the motivation of that kid was he was not going to both deliver the paper AND be stuck with the bill for the paper because someone was to cheap or inconsiderate to pay $2. |
|
Why are people here trying to defend this clearly poor behavior on the part of LS? Keeping at least some dues for the travel portion of the program, where they actually provided a service with zoom meetings and home training is at least something tangible in terms of service.
The Rec kids got zippy from the Spring program. Nothing. That money should be refunded completely and the sentiment here should be unanimous on that, unless you are a travel or ECNL parent concerned that the refund of that money would cause the club to go under, which it shouldn’t since the club was also eligible for and took up some of the government’s low interest financing. |
Agree. LS claims on their website each program stands on its own financially, meaning rec doesn't pay for travel or vice versa. Who knows if that is actually true. |
